I an sure Net- or OpenBSD might run half way decently but there would not be a whole lot you could do with it. I wonder if either of the OSes could even detect a network card.
I have never tried eHarmony. But I did meet my girlfriend of the past 6 years on OK cupid.
I am planning to ask her to marry me in the spring.
But I would hardly call online dating websites scientific. I would say it comes down more to luck, and both of us being honest with what we wanted.
It's simply another way of meeting someone. It is no better or worse than going to a social or a bar or even a connect through a friend.
Imagine the ripple effect through the economy if the bitcoin bubble bursts and Uber and Twitter go bye bye. This should rapidly erase any economic gains and might actually cause some real turmoil.
Legalize prostitution: If you prohibit something that has demand, illegal/black markets *will* be created. It would also be easier to help the women who want to quit and don’t manage on their own. Health controls could be done, which benefits both clients and sellers.
Not to mention, you could tax it. Just make it a job like an artist or a performer.
Criminalizing certain vices; the prohibition of gambling, prostitution, and even drugs has fueled the rise in violent, organized crime. Where there is a demand for a product or a service, a market will exist. The mafia made fortunes on bootlegging and other vice crimes throughout the 20th century. When you criminalize a service or product, it becomes unregulated and MUCH more dangerous. It's time to admit that these vice crimes just need to go away. If we legalized and regulated drugs, then the domino effect of violence that results from drugs starts to go away.
These days Hollywood is churning out quantity over quality. I've found Netflix originals to be so much better than what the big movie studios are producing.
Trump's behavior is disgusting, unprofessional, and unbecoming of a sitting president of the leader of the free world. The lack of respect that he shows for the office is deplorable. Typically once an election ends, so does the name calling and blaming. Once an election ends, the elected official assumes a much more civil and responsible position. I erroneously thought Trump would do so when I heard him say, "President Obama is a good guy." and this is a direct quote during their pre-inaugural meeting. It turned out that Trump simply continues his campaign as if he is still in an election.
The power invested in the President of the United States is not one to be taken lightly: it is not reality television. A stroke of the pen that enacts a law can cause some people to suffer while others are helped. Shifting policies can cause people real and palpable hardships. The War Powers Act allows a sitting president to wage conventional warfare for a period of 90 days without congressional authority. This is serious business. Sending soldiers to a battlefield where they could be killed or maimed is a heavy responsibility and one that Trump is incapable of appreciating.
The world would be a better place without Facebook and Twitter. It would result in less outrage politics, less radicalization of loaners, less keeping up with Jonses, less depressed people, less echo chambers, safer roads, better sleep. If deleting Facebook and Twitter was a pill, we would all be taking it instead of vitamins.
Thank you! The world will be an infinitely better place without Facebook and Twitter.
"This is the year people will see we get that there's real work to do. We have to change."
Hopefully by going the MySpace way.
I can only hope that people wake up from this slumber called social media. It will be great to watch Zuckerberg's financial empire implode overnight. It was built on abusing people's privacy, manipulating news, and encouraging social rifts.
Let him scramble and let him fail. Facebook never did anything really innovative anyway. It's like one giant, topicless bulletin board where everyone posts shit about their lives most people don't want to read anyway. Facebook ruined the concept of friendship and relegated it to something far less meaningful and rich. Instead the platform has been divisive, promotes hatred, and promotes revisionist history. I'm now 60 days free from that giant clusterfuck known as Facebook. Facebook is psychologically toxic!
City of Philadelphia came up with a novel idea - their new transit pass (SEPTA Key) is also a Mastercard debit card.
It's actually a great system! I have one and the fees for using it compare favorably with traditional banking. It has saved me lots of money over using some Walmart or other prepaid debit card. You know Walmart is making a cut of the money off of every transaction.
This statute means that all United States money as identified above are a valid and legal offer of payment for debts when tendered to a creditor. There is, however, no Federal statute mandating that a private business, a person or an organization must accept currency or coins as for payment for goods and/or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether or not to accept cash unless there is a State law which says otherwise.
You're quite correct. A merchant could allow payment in Bitcoin or some other cyber currency.
Buy something. Offer cash. Seller refuses to accept cash. Walk away with thing you bought. Seller sues you. Agree to pay in full. Court decides in plaintiff's favor the price of the item. You make payment in cash. Court tells plaintiff to STFU and take it.
Then you have committed something called theft. Who's the moron now?
But it still has to be able to detect that the code is even there. It's going to be a cat and mouse game similar to anti-virus and anti-malware. It will need definition updates in order to detect and block the code. The authors of this bitcoin mining software will just alter and tweak it a little bit. It's a moving target.
Duh, are you simple? Anyone is free to start corporation that does not rape, pillage and abuse...
Most of them do. It's called a free market economy. Since when does any corporation do anything altruistically. Even when they support causes, it's calculated to gain good karma.
The EU already drew it. I must have an explicit opt in for all data collection, with a complete explanation of everything they're going to do with it. If they violate either the set of data they said they're going to collect, or do something with it they said they wouldn't, they're liable for massive fines.
Further, I should be able to see all data that they've collected on me on request.
Further, I should be able to demand they delete all data they hold on me.
That's a pretty clear line, and a pretty reasonable one.
Just because Facebook offers to delete all of your personal data upon account closure, does not mean that they will. If I had to guess, your data just gets moved to some obscure, internal server somewhere away from the public view. If you think otherwise, I have a 100 year old bridge in great condition to sell you.
Facebook has no incentive to offer any kind of "Start Over" option or button. All of that data they've collected is almost worth more than gold and they've spent a lot of money in terms of connectivity and electricity to get that data. I don't even believe that when you delete your account, all of your data is removed. Corporations lie all of the time so I don't think Facebook gets rid of your data. They just simply move it out of the public eye. I truly hope that I am proved wrong in my assertion and that facebook really does something ethical but they were awfully complicit in "electioneering."
I an sure Net- or OpenBSD might run half way decently but there would not be a whole lot you could do with it. I wonder if either of the OSes could even detect a network card.
I like laptops with larger screens and keyboards. A smartphone/tablet doesn't replace the functionality of a laptop.
Nice! A large part of it is still free. You just pay for certain upgrades like being able to see who has viewed you and the like.

Thanks! That is a good idea. I changed my settings.
This asshole appears on every post. He's like a fucking mosquito that won't go away.

We live in a sick fucking world.

60 days facebook free. Deleted my account and will never look back.

You can get Visa prepaid cards for a small fee at Walmart, right next the checkout lanes. Good for what ails ya.
It's actually not that small. It's rather exorbitant when compared to traditional banking with debit cards.
Except you don't know how the law works.

No need for regulators. If there are features wanted/needed in the industry, then another startup can compete with FB and fill the void.
So any corporation is free to rape, pillage, and abuse? No, I don't think so ....
