"What it doesn't say is that the offer terms will expose you to reams of spam and marketing solicitations, that the user survey is actually a lengthy marketing ploy"
Shocked! Shocked I am! Who would have thought that giving your contact info to shady online marketers would expose you to spam and (I'm about to puke) *marketing surveys*?! Thank God for courageous reporters like this who aren't afraid to "tell it like it is."
I find it absolutely hilarious that EDS (as part of this alliance) weighed in on the issue of scalability, given their software's spectacular crash and burn in Colorado for the past 6 months. In case you haven't heard, Colorado's Department of Social Services deployed a new EDS rollout last year, which promptly slowed processing times to a crawl and left about 30,000 families without food or housing benefits. I don't have a link, but it's been reported on several times in local media.
Tell me again about that shitty linux scalability, EDS. Maybe I can make a drinking game out of it.
"After all how could they ban devices that are ok for the military while flying at up to Mach-2?"
I'm no pilot, but if you take your attention off the clouds for a couple of seconds at mach 2, you risk running into more clouds. If you take your attention off the road for a couple of seconds, you risk running into a suddenly braking car, or a pedestrian.
Even if there are factors I haven't considered, pilots are slightly better trained than licensed drivers.
"and he doesn't care who hurts in the course of his self-preoccupation"
It's a fucking movie. If I were Lucas and I saw this kind of whiny drivel from people who expect high art out of a blast-em-up series of films, I'd run it into the ground just for spite. I'd make Jar Jar Luke's real father and have Anakin adopt him at some point. Imagine the rash of nerd suicides *that* would set off!
These aren't criminal prosecutions, they're civil ones, and the rules for winning a case are a lot weaker. They don't have to prove that you were the one sharing the songs, just that you pay for the connection.
"cmon, anyone can score in the top 2% on a REAL iq test"
Except for the 98% who don't.
There's a difference between local and remote DoS attacks, but I guess you overlooked that in your rush to troll.
Burn, Star Wars, burn!

Too subtle?

Nowhere is it ever mentioned that Apple had anything to do with it. I hate Apple, so why am I the one standing up for them?
"Got a link?"
I see he already posted some, but any 20-year-old astronomy book will also fill you in on the amino acids present on Titan.
"Well, it'd be the 2nd moon ever with an atmosphere"
Except for earth's moon, you mean, right? Come on, moderators, don't take random, ill-informed comments at face value.
"Thanks BartPE, Kaspersky and System Internals!"
All three companies conspired to make you click a button without reading the text? Holy shit, it's worse than I thought!
This is awesome. Now even Windows users who switch over from IE are fucked because windowsupdate.com doesn't play well with other browsers.
Yeah, see, that's what makes the parent post funny.

Congratulations on finding a new way to subtly spam people with your shit advertising.
Well, maybe not so subtle. I'm noticing this more and more around here lately.
Nifty, but videocameras would be much more interesting. I had an older model JVC that picked up the flashing IR of a TV remote...hmmm.
"'maybe, just maybe, you too can snag Paris Hilton's address book.' (Which was not snagged via Bluetooth snooping, as the article points out.)"
Then why bother mentioning it? Aren't editors supposed to, I don't know, *edit* shit?
Gotta love that viral marketing.
I'm saving $80/month by parking my fucking car near a hotspot. Woot!

"It doesn't suddenly lose it's space"
My God! It's full of irony!
Read your AUP.

"This can be varified by looking it up in old 80s TV Guides."
Words escape me.
The fact that this was modded "insightful" tells me the moderators aren't thinking very hard.
You won't get sued for downloading. You get sued for copyright infringement. Whether you own the original media or not, "fair use" won't protect you.
IANAL.

"as well as a picture with (MS Paint?)"
You mean the one that looks like the profile of a breast? That's *hot*.
Don't feed the trolls.
