Well, the bootloader on the Droid is supposed to be signed, but there was a bug in the source code (patch) that let people sneak modified updates through. There's a good chance the official 2.1 bootloader will close this hole, since the patch has been merged already.
When dealing with Android phones: ROM = A zip file containing system update files that will be added/replaced and scripts that perform the upgrade. Flashing = Extracting the update file and running the shell scripts.
People just use the same terminology as regular cell phones when it comes to this stuff. You're not overwriting the (whole) NAND when you flash and there's nothing "read only" about it (after the/system partition has been mounted rw, for 'flashing', that is.)
Actually I guess I forgot about this in my post. My primary bank is a credit union, but I use ING Direct to get 1.1% interest compared to my CU's 0.25%.
You're wrong, though. (for two reasons, one being less important the other) The main thing is that while yes, Safari and Chrome both use WebKit, their implementations can actually be different. Any changes should head upstream, but Chrome can use a newer release of WebKit than the latest version of Safari, for example. (Same with Gecko implementations.) And of course, don't forget things like extensions and whatnot. But, anything implementing Trident can only use Trident and change the window chrome because it's closed source, as well as be stuck with whatever version of Trident is installed on the machine.
My other, lesser point is that Konqueror and Safari do not use the same rendering engine. Konqueror uses KHTML, and Safari uses WebKit, which is derived from but not the same as KHTML.
Even though LOL is (supposed to be) an acronym, every time I read it in uppercase I see it as an acronym (laugh out loud), instead of the word (lawl). Then I recall my friend thinking it was "Lots of Laughs" (what?) and I want to hurt somebody.
While AT&T are bad verizon is just as bad if not worse. Ihave watched verizons 3G network slow to a crawl.
You say that with no context as to where you live, which is very important. Because where I am, AT&T just turned on 3G less than six months ago, and it's slower than Verizon's which has been on for two years, and hasn't slowed down a bit since I got my Droid.
I don't know how long ago you did that, but right now when I use 1-Click it says "You have 30 minutes to cancel or change your order." Personally, I like having 1-Click while I have Prime, but definitely not if it's off (mostly because I want $25 to make it free shipping). I certainly agree it should NOT be on by default, though.
On the same note, spoofing to a number and name you legally own shouldn't be illegal, but that's sort of irrelevant.
And yet, this article is about the Droid, making your statement irrelevant?

A government for the corporations, by the corporations?
If they just put up giant Ctrl+Alt+Delete comics, it'd scare just about anybody out of coming into the country.
I got box's for my Xbox's!
Yet my credit union gives me both a checking account with a Mastercard debit card, and a Visa credit card, for no fees at all.

Not just web-based clients, but mobile clients. While it could certainly be patched to do so, even my Android phone doesn't support encrypted mail.
This is something I have never understood. Why on earth do normal people use banks when there are credit unions?
I really need to start buying less complicated games..
Yep! Collisions and all.
Because we all know how MD5 turned out..
I think it's even worse that I recognized what you were referring to when only seeing
Internet Explorer LOSES 10 CHARM!
Internet Explorer IS NOW KNOWN AS GreenBrowser.
before seeing Legend of the Red Dragon.

It's illegal in the US, but also almost universally unenforced.

You have to research things to make up stuff, now?
The blank version probably just comes with it pre-checked.

No worries, there's a workaround for the workaround! They can CTRL+Click.
Since when did anything require credibility to get on the front page of Slashdot?
Well, you hope, anyway. Viruses these days..
