either by being firstborn, or if an elder brother died) Well then it isn't biological if the death of someone older occurs. It means that the parents paid more attention to the child. This isn't something new. My wife and I were looking into overseas adoption and the person we were talking to said that with infants you find about 1 month delay for every 3 months in an institution aka orphanage. She said that she saw this with both of her adopted children and the remarkable thing was that they did catch up at a remarkable rate once they were in their home. Almost like going from crawling to walking in mere days.
I would be more interested in a study showing the learning rates between children with a parent who stays home compared to ones who are in daycare part-time, full-time and the sad cases where they spend majority of a 24 hour period in daycare cause mom and dad need a new Beemer.
I am 100% sure that they do separate the classified info (i.e secret and above) from the normal everyday workings. Whether there is a physical disconnect or hardware encryption tunneled in nonclassified lines, I don't know.
Ok you are blowing this out of proportion, the end consumer is authorized to remove the mattess tags but I don't know anyone who would like to eat mattress.
Alternatively, print an 2A0 goatse picture and hang it over there... you can bet google wont like to zoom-in over there. But I am sure the police will like it (something about obscenity laws).
A guy I work with did that exact thing. He found the first 6 episodes of Season 3 was tolerable when he watched them one right after the other but he could understand why anyone would be annoyed with it. Personally I find Lost more cereberal than Heroes almost like the latter panders towards Joe Sixpack.
If no one bothers fighting a corrupt system, they are essentially justifying what they are doing. With numbers, the system will change. If everyone who is wronged stands up for what is right, instead of doing what is easy, things will have to change because it is too big to ignore.
What if a company was doing something wrong and the system won't fight for you? I know someone (let's call this person X) who was a personal trainer at the YMCA in Ottawa. X was technically considered an employee who was paid by the hour that X worked. X worked there for a couple of years and volunteered a minimum of 2 hours a week as h/she had been told that it was part of the job. This volunteering was essentially an intro for any new clients.
The last year this person was there, the last couple of weeks there were no actual work hours as no one had requested personal training but X still had to go in and do the volunteering. X decided to quit. X also started looking into the labour laws and found the following out: 1. A company cannot force you to do volunteer work as part of your job inside or outside the company (be aware that the YMCA the charity and YMCA the gym are actually two separate entities; the first is a not-for-profit and the second is under the umbrella of the first but is definitely for-profit). 2. Any work i.e reading, preparation etc outside the office that the employee does is supposed to be compensated for and anytime X had a new client, work was done at home setting up an exercise plan. 3. Any mandatory meetings, employees had to be paid for (guess what?)
Anyways once X realized this, the Ontario Labour Board was contacted and was given evidence (emails, dates, times etc) of the above infractions. The person that X was talking to figured that the Y owed about $1000 for all the "mandatory volunteering" that was performed.
So the Labour Board started an inquiry and the result was that someone above the person doing the investigation said that they were not going to pursue this but yes what the Y was doing was illegal.
Sad yes?
The question is X would love to blow the lid off of this but not get identified as it may affect and further employment opportunites so what do you do?
It was called IPOD2CAR from Peripheral Electronics. I bought one refurb from Ebay about a year ago. Took me 10 minutes to get it hooked up to the stock stereo in my 03 Jeep Liberty. Before that I had a Belkin iTrip but hated driving down the highway and it getting overpowered by someone else's fm transmitter. Best $100 I ever spent. Nicest thing about it is if I get a different car I replace one cable to get it hooked up to the new one.
Since I live in Canada, there's no DMCA, and I'm already paying taxes on blank DVDs, so this is not yet a problem. Still, I figure Stephen Harper and his cronies will bless us with a DMCA-like law soon.
I believe the levy is not on DVDs but on CDs and media playing devices as it DVDs are not considered Audio recording media (see table in link). And don't blame Harper, well at least not for the copyright law that the govt is trying get through as this was introduced by the previous residents of parliament.
Interestingly, I was going to give the issue with Operation Clambake on xenu.net as an example how Scientology had forced Google to remove links to the website as it contained "copywritten material", however I did a quick search and lo and behold first link on the page is to the site. I guess with all the crap with South Park and Tom Cruise in the closet, Google returned to linking to it.
Well it took me about 30 seconds to discover Ripit4me so I could backup Casino Royale and about 1.5 minutes to find a download that worked so yeah 2 minutes is about right.
With Rogers in Canada (notoriously the least favourable for Bittorrent usage), if you look at the TOS that they provide, they can shut you off at any point if they find that: A. You are downloading intellectual Property that you are not supposed to have. B. You are running any server based application (i.e. FTP) C. You are letting anyone in your local area to get free access to your link other than people in your actual residence. At one point they would even threaten if you had a router. Nowadays you would be stupid if you didn't have a router. So C isn't really enforced anymore.
I received a Cease and Desist from Rogers regarding downloading software which I don't do much anymore if at all. In this case it had been about 6 months since the last time. Someone I know got one for downloading a couple episodes of BattleStar Galactica which I told her if I had got it, I would have responded back for them to go fvck themselves as most of the time I download anything recent tv-wise would be because the stupid Explorer 8300HD PVR I am renting from them didn't tape it or that the show they provided wasn't in widescreen format even though it was available.
I haven't heard of anyone being shut off from A yet and I know of people who have gone past the 100G per month limit so I think it is just a CYA. Plus from what I understand Sympatico isn't throttling BitTorrent so Rogers knows that their threat of cutting someone off is missing some teeth as it is easy to jump over to their competitors. Plus if they did, they would lose about $160 a month as I would move everything over to Bell.
Tube in a audio preamp? You have got to be kidding. I didn't think harmonic distortion was necessarily a good thing when you are trying to keep the sound as clean as possible? I know tubes are valued in guitar amps (I have a 63 Fender Blonde Bassman) as they have a great distorted sound when pushed but not for when listening to music that shouldn't be distorted.
I mean, most still watch tv with ads, instead of tivo-ing it and skipping the commercials or downloading it without commercials, right?
Nope. I have a PVR and I still download most stuff rather than fastfoward through commercials. The only thing I use my PVR for is stuff that isn't high demand
WIth Windows XP and 2000 sysprep is your friend. With a properly setup Sysprep.inf, the hardware doesn't even need to be identical other than whether or not ACPI is supported.
One definite detractor about FasterFox and any typical precaching extension is that you may go to a link that may have a link to a questionable site. If you are running Firefox in an environment where said questionable sites are located i.e. work. You may not want to have firewall logs containing this precaching.

The stupid thing is there is encryption available for Blackberries through Entrust and I wouldn't be surprised with other companies. GPG maybe?

On this side of the pond you can get certified checks. The bank has their own little fee but that is the cost of doing business.
I think it can be attributed to "Dogs don't shit where they sleep".

The one thing that really annoys me about XBMC though is that opening an MP3 Playlist it will parse it every single time.

The intent was to have DVDs included on the 2003-2004 levy but it never made it. Hopefully sensibility will ensue.
But I won't hold my breath.

In my case, for the DVD Release. With the home theatre, very few movies are worth the hassle and annoyance of going to a movie theatre.
When a coworker left Vonage for Rogers Home Phone he found the same problem. The question is why? I am curious

You forgot the alternate (5):
Rent movie at blockbuster and make copy if you want to keep it.
Well it took me about 30 seconds to discover Ripit4me so I could backup Casino Royale and about 1.5 minutes to find a download that worked so yeah 2 minutes is about right.
Course that doesn't explain why I downloaded the first 5 seasons of Smallville but that's another story....
