I have a 5M cable and have found that Bittorrent is not always the fastest. In general, I find http download to be much faster. The advantage of bittorrent is that the link is more reliable than other p2p sharing programs where you can easily get disconnected. Of course this is assuming that the file in question is popular. If not then it is no better.

For me, I would love if the local Cable provider (Rogers) would set up on their Rogers on Demand the ability to watch shows from the previous day even with the commercials intact. Hell give you the option of watching them all first before the show starts.

I found that shortly after posting. I checked and I had a Thompson drive. I ended up buying a used game yesterday from Electronics Boutique and renting one from Blockbuster. Neither would play on it. I ended up going to where I bought it and told them about the class action lawsuit and they were nice enough to replace the one I bought with a new one. As it was after the typical 30 day return policy I was supposed to contact Microsoft but they took it instead and labeled it as a defect and gave me a new one.

For the first time I have got an 2 year extended warranty (bought it today) and I think it may actually have been a good idea

    Thanks for the help!

It does come with music manager software but that still on the CD. Perhaps it stores music on the device in this MPY format.

Exactly. They created a plugin that converted the MP3 to MPY but the only application that supported it was Music Manager. Which I absolutely hate. I was happy as a pig in sh!t when the belt clip broke and took the mp3 player with it when it hit the ground. I ended up buying a Rio Cali and love it.

For me there is no interest in getting an iPod. They are pretty looking and have a whizbang interface but I only use my mp3 player for running and find them too heavy. Plus I have about 260M on my Rio Cali and have about 30M free. There is only certain songs I can run to and I have not found enough to fill it yet. I maybe add and remove songs maybe once a month so the copying up doesn't bother me.
One of the things the Lyra annoyed me with was that if I had an SD card in, I could only see the SD Card content. With the Cali I get two drives one for internal and one for SD.

The whole MPY thing was the most annoying thing. I would only use MusicManager when I needed to convert songs to MPY and then I would copy them back onto my computer.
