As an Irishman, I don't know how anyone can drink Guinness. I see tourists ordering it with their breakfast sometimes here (granted that will be a breakfast at 12 that looks more like a bucket of greese with a few sausages thrown in) and I feel like getting sick when I see it! Give me a Bulmers any day of the week and no one has formed a better way to store that than in a pint bottle.
Good to see that University of Limerick students are hard at work though!
Quite correct, and agree wholeheartedly. Guinness is to dry stout as Erdinger is to hefeweizen as carrot is to a car. Or something like that. It's no longer a matter of quality, it's just a brand that's succumbed to its own commercial appeal.
Not that large mailboxes, but a couple ones in and around 300 to 500 MB. Windows 7 Pro, 32-bit. Accessing mail server via IMAP (six mailboxes, 'bout 2 GB all in all), two via POP3. No slowdowns; no CPU hogging, no excessive memory usage (hell, Live Messenger is using up 58 MB right now, Thunderbird only 44 MB). CPU usage at 0 at almost all times (seen it jump to 8% on my dual core 2.33 GHz Intel machine). I/O performance is great, too.
I don't know... Seems to me that people are just trying to create solutions to non-existant problems, and most likely in the hope of being able to sell it to someone.
If they do find a solution to the excessive memory usage of Firefox, or it hanging whilst running the Java download manager from Microsoft, I'll cut' em some slack.
Thus, I don't give a damn if or how I get modded (I'm fine as long as my opinion doesn't go unnoticed by).
To me, this looks like the author is just hoping (or already has) to gain profit from advertisers by not blocking them by default.
Don't change anything, for the love of God! Let users have their freedom, whether 'tis by choosing from subscription filters, or by filtering out individual advertiserson their own.
Don't give the advertisers any edge in bypassing your filters - that'll just make AdBlock redunant and useless.
Clearly, there should be studies done on video games that don't deal with violence at all, but only deal with sex. I want a study done to determine if viewing pornography can improve visual acuity. Sex and sexuality have often been related to blindness (amongst other nasties); it would be good if it can be scientifically demonstrated that sex can actually be beneficial.
Masturbation and watching pornography can improve your hearing. Listening for any other noises, like the creaking of the door to your room, or footsteps on the floor is a great exercise.
"An 8GB DDR3 memory module of the same speed costs between about $250 and $300 today.
The price of 16GB DDR3 modules remains far loftier, however. They were first announced this month by vendors such as Samsung Electronics and Smart Modular Technologies.
Samsung won't say how much it plans to charge, but Smart is charging PC makers $3,400 today for 16GB 1333-MHz RAM modules, a Smart spokeswoman said."
What's so smart about that? Getting away with the ridiculous pricing?
Your anecdote further strengthens my view that American companies are all run by idiots. I swear, American companies sit down and figure out the most efficient way to run the company and then say "Ok, great -- lets do the exact opposite".
This applies to the Icelandic government, too. It's not just Americans.
Laying people off is (still!) some kind of a last resort, reducing work time and salaries seems to be "the solution" here. Well, management is cut down somewhat - but that's probably the wisest decision of the "big bosses", although they probably don't realize it. Unless they're just fishing for votes...
Shouldn't this be used for every type of cables? During the last couple of weeks, coiled USB cables have given me lots of grief. USB connected camera stands (used for passport pictures) keep being disconnected, but as soon as the cable has been straightened (5 meters), everything's fine.
Recently I had the same problem with a Cat5e cable at some other place; 5 meters, half of that from the IP phone to the wall; as soon as I straightened it up, the phone was able to connect.
Why not simply Alpha release? Of course, that's not quite correct either.
Where I come from, alphas are released to internal software testers. Betas are the builds that have passed the alpha stage, and are released to select few or limited number of users for further testing before hitting the public.
Meh... Why aren't there any standards for software builds and version numberings that everyone can follow?
Oh krud. Fool me once shame on you, Blizzard, feel me twice shame on me. There goes my second chance at finally graduating. At this rate, I'll never be able to afford my own basement.
If I were a part of Blizzard... Wait, never mind. I'd rather not feel you at all.;)
When the shit hits the fan.

Where the hell is the list of safe sites?!
Never got mine to work on top of a pizza... Might've been the cheese?
I, for one, welcome our new dark field mice overlords!

Whoa, Chuck Norris flashback!

Pardon me, for not being at same level of comprehension as you. I thought this was ./ and no one would notice anyway.
Then again... If not waitresses, then strippers have no self respect? Either way, sounds like stereotyping to me.
Phishing is very primitive in most cases; elegant, and nearing true social engineering in some others.
Of course the security industry is frustrated about not being able to successfully fight back such simple or primitive methods. Automatically.
Of course they would. But then again, they'd probably have to lay off the pot or crack in order to do so.
Your point being that waiters and waitresses have no self respect?
I want to go out on my own, either starting my own company or just working as a contractor doing Java development
Are Java developers actually still being hired? I thought that language was only taught at school, and then never more.
That is one reason why mirroring isn't a backup, and why backups should ideally be off-line.
That's basically how I found out my mirroring was working on a small Linux server (more for hobby)...
# cd /etc
# rm -rf *
D'oh!
What I meant to type was "rm -rf *~", to remove Vim backups of bunch of files.
Only once the word is completed can the finger be lifted off.
Better not be dyslexic around devices of this kind, or it'll stick to your finger indefinitely.
It sure lends the term "StickyKeys" a new meaning!
Avoiding Wasted Time With Prince of Persia
So, how exactly can I avoid wasting my time by wasting my time playing video games?
Just because we are all group together so it seems like we are a majority the truth is Linux users are in a small minority.
Apparently, the minority remains small, compared to the majority. Now, as for who "we" are... I truly feel sorry for you! ;)

At last, more drugs to get addicted to. One day, we'll be taking all kinds of drugs to treat our Alzheimer's and remind us of our nicotine addiction.
