In some places the kids may have recieved some real pal time and counselor talk to read the sign of agression and learn more about it. Give the opportunity to get out repressed feelings, and learn a new way of dealing with anger management. Teachers seem to fear guns more today than ever I suppose. In some places I guess they could just expel the kid and let the parents (undoubtably not qualified psychologists) deal witht he problem, which would in turn create a new one.
OMG I want this now! God I can't wait. No more seriously frickin annoying drill sound! I suppose they better have a steady hand when doing this kind of thing though. So much better! I may enjoy the next dentist visit!
These policies are just made so people keep the behind doors stuff out of the office. If an outbreak of domestic dispute arises it's an easy way to axe the entire probrlem right out of the office legally I assume, and keeps the drama out of the office pretty well in my experience.
Thank you for this:
"Please- encourage your friends to use IM clients that support encryption, and use technology like GPG/PGP for personal or business email- if only to 'sign' messages. We need to make sure that legitimate use of encryption vastly outweighs any illegitimate uses, so that using encryption in and of itself doesn't become a crime."
I agree, and I think skype should be used by as many people as possible - too much encryprion, too hard to keep prying into our private lives right.
I have seen all kinds of crazy stories about patents being used to extort companies into royalties since the court battle would cost more - and thes lawyers are getting fat doing it. Acacia and others are out of control. It's good that these issues come to light so we can possible have some change!
Want a really funny / scary feed? This one site (http://www.freshpatents.com/) has an rss feed of a few new patentlty applied for eveyday. and I have seen some crazy stuff that may get a apatent from unkonwing out of touch patent officee clerks who don't know that the "technique to display multiple video conference attendies simultaneously with audio-text" is nothing new to be patented - it's been done, by many others already.
I think your right about testing the backups. It would be nice if it could run when I'm no using my systems, and make a working backup. I have had failed restores from all kinds of products and individual applications not working with future versions.. a nice dependable, encrypted, automatic backup would be nice to have though, although for many of us it may tak days to unencrpt and get a working verison going. If it were possible and set up with your os and main programs / docs on one drive with huge media files on another, it amy not take so long to get production back sans the huge media files.
I appreciate his examples and clear communication. I wish we would have brought more attention to the mobile css issues, I think that most of my friends will be using the web on sidekicks and mobile phones more than anything else once they are out of school. I am trying to get my new site mobile compliant and there is so much confusion about the future of mobile content formatting.
I want these now! Maybe we can get a patch or wait for Socom 4, but it would be sooo cool in Soldner secret wars (http://www.secretwars.net) - I love that kind of futuristic stuff in the games. Like the OICW , the hkg11. The airbursts in Socom. Very cool stuff to play with;)
I really enjoyed the way there were a bunch of mini missions within the whole thing. I t made me wanna go back and play some that I missed not knowing in the first levels, but it reall made a huge difference when I had trouble with a couple of the missions, I wasn't STUCK. I twas nice to be able to continue enjoying the game play when finding a portion beyond my capability.
This would be a nice server side. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have something server side that would check new configurations in cases like new wrodpress setups, or other software. It would be nice to have something test lamp, database queries made in intial set up. Would be great to be able to test different versions of software along with current databse and server configurations. Might save some stupid hard to figure out errors that are easily seeable from a little java type script like this one.
Indeed, I agree completely here. turn off the screen saver, save your electricity, that does the whole planet good. I for one think that extra computer cycles are not going to help find alien life as much as a whole new paridym shift in the way that we are searching.
As for the other cuases, if people give up cycles and bandwidth to help whatever cause, good for you, I don't see anything wrong with that!
The real question I have, is how many people know about things like server logs and ip addys? I bet most and that would be millions of people, may assume that posting annonymously is just that. Only to possibly deal with legal issues rangaing from all sorts of differnt angles.. more education to the mainstream users should be given by sites. A little privacy policy link does nothing because they are too long and written in legal speak no one wants to wade through.
my 2 cents - spread the word on your sites.
I wonder if there is an eff link page especially for that kind of info?

I don't think it should be neccessary to release the cost to the public, it could affect competition in some ways and therefor would be dterimental to the stockholders. Stockholders should be fine knowing that they sold x amount of ipods, and that they made money, not lost it.
I can imagine that this could be really bad it is one thing to have to give up your wallet it is another to have to give a finger to a robber. plus with all the ways we leave fingerprints behind from glasses to car doors it seems like a real easy way to get ones financial inforamtion.
They say they can fix the problem from the ground with back ups but if it was a cosmic event the triggered it to go offline then you can bet they will have to go back up there to replace the parts, since more than likely everything would be fried. They will stall as long as possible before they NASA will request the additional funds to go there since there are several budget meetings being held right now in the Congress and Senate.
Even if the law did pass it does not mean that another one could not be passed to reverse it, jack abramas did this game when he got one casino closed and then he went to the one that got closed and offered to get them back in biz.
Every comment I have read so far is about problems , when something is in this early stage they are not problems , any software designer knows you run beta versions and fix bugs but there not problems I assure you, can anyone tell me about a software program that has had no bugs in it or problems with it?
Well I hope this guy is prosecuted for every computer user he tricked into his scheme, I use typepad after tangling with my Live Journal account to much, I hated having to handcode everything. I bet this company will only shine in the future with all its loyal members livejournal will soon become the next MySpace, I just wonder what Billionair will buy them out when they get that many millions of users.
Do we really need another billion dollar plane? Don't we have Billion dollar bombs? We should be investing more in satilites with bomb dropping capabilties and not more jets.Every country in the world knows we America have nukes, biological, chemical and other nasty bombs, having another jet makes no differnce in my opinon for a deterent.
It aint frigging its freaking, dam Canadian, and one dollar coins? Who buys anything with one dollar coins? In a vending machine I never seen any software sold in a vending machine, which I guess why you stated it was old school but I am 28 so how old school we talking??Quake will live another 10 years top with all the new games out this game will soon just be a memory.
I do not believe bloggers are extreme as he makes them out to be, passionate maybe but most blogs I find are spamm, and the ones that are not tend to cover alot topics and not just one subject. I am just glad Google took blogs out of its web search results made it alot easier to find great sites.

Seems like more and more we hear about another Apple blunder, if MSN would have done this there would have been news reports televesion reports and even a class action suit I am sure. Glad I was not one of the ones fixing a broken calendar, even still after a quick look at the unofficial blog of Apple it seems pretty cool.
