Oh well, if Mexico does it, then it must be right. How dare we not follow their example. And in Saudi Arabia they kill women that drive a car, while we for some strange reason don't.
I wear a wetsuit (and sometimes gloves) each time I go kayaking, and let me tell you, it will be absolutely impossible for me to hogtie myself while I wear one (let alone two, AND a rubber mask).
Who else liked internal paper control? Hitler, Stalin, Mao... (and the Neocons/Neolibs now, apparently)
Part of the problem is that NI really is a nice tool in shutting out the undesirables (you can't get a job, you can't travel, you can't use banks, can't rent or even pay a lot of your bills unless the Govt says you can).
So yes, unfortunately National ID really does work against criminals. The question we should be asking is who decides who is a criminal (and can they be trusted).
First make the argument based on things I have published and we can go from there.
Things that you published suck or otherwise have no value to me. But assuming you were a Shakespeare, a Fitzgerald, or the next Lucas, giving out your own work for free still does NOT make you automatically entitled to work of others.
Here is an analogy: just because you freely offer to have sex with Jennifer Lopez does not mean she would like to offer it to you
people think around the world, especially here in Europe, that Americans are a bunch of arrogant idiots only the dumb ones, since as you said correctly
50% of [American] scientists weren't even born in the US And what difference does it make which country one was born in? That's precisely the beauty of America is that your success doesn't depend on your race, gender, or country of origin.
Truth hurts, doesn't it? For all your demagoguery, the truth remains is that over 50% of the stuff on your local TV, and over 90% of the stuff on your local "warez" server is produced in America (and copied without permission of the creators/owners).
Copying information is not stealing? Then you wouldn't mind people copying your passport, your high school/college diplomas (if any), your date of birth and drivers license, your credit card numbers and bank accounts, your address and pictures of your family and pets in the nude?
Oh, that's right. When people copy your stuff without permission that suddenly becomes stealing. But taking other people's stuff is OK, right? Right?
Oh STFT hippie, and get a job already. Is it enlightened to steal others' stuff without permission?
It's funny how all you "enlightened" Europeans are stealing the "backwards" American-made music and movies.
And not only that. The Europeans are also getting a free ride on American scientific research (we publish more papers with greater citation index than all of Europe combined), military strength (guess who you called when shit went down in Kosovo or even with Hilter's Germany), medical research, and so on.
Where do you see "automatic assumption of racism" in my comment? Is it racist for me to use the word "black"? Or is it racist for the black voters to support Obama at 70% (so the precincts heavy on black voters would be heavy on Obama support)?
No really, this is exactly why I hate seing a black guy run for President: not because he's black, but because any time you question him or his supporters, you are automatically labeled a racist.
Paper count in one country: Obama wins by 4% Electronic count in a different county: Hillary wins by 5%
But yeah, most liberals can't tell the difference here either. (you know the kind, people that claim that Bush is like Hitler because they both enjoyed started their day with breakfast).
You must be really as sharp as a doorknob to compare US and Romania.
How many of the music/videos on your Romanian server are actually produced in Romania?
US of A invests huge amount of money into producing top quality music, videos, and other intellectual property. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be paid. Hence the difference between US and Romanian antipiracy attitudes.
"Top quality" media? That means that the rest of the world fucking loves whatever we produce and just can't get enough, as much as they might bitch about it. I have travelled the world a bit, and about 50-90% of the non-news media I see on foreign TV is dubbed American stuff.
Please provide copies of your passport, drivers license, birth certificate, any credit cards and/or bank statements, and pictures of your family and pets in the nude.
[...]that a mediocre biologist might have to applying quantum theory to skin disease. After I read that I realized GP is just talking out of his ass. But then again, that's probably why they pay him.
Well, for the older (non-focal plane array) seeker heads, you can actually steer the missile away by pulsing the laser in a particular way.
For the newer seekers, you could at least temporarily blind the missile by shining the laser briefly, then switching it off (and hoping the head will continue looking for the laser instead of re-acquiring your plane, or will classify it as decoy). Remember, the sensors are actively cooled (using argon or nitrogen before launch) to make them sensitive enough, so just warming them up with a laser beam might do the trick.
And honestly, how many terrorists are smart enough to build their own AA missiles, or even modify the existing seeker heads?
Oh, there are good reasons to expect it. One good reason is that, in 20-30 years if all goes well, we will be constructing our own full-scale universe simulations. Possibly millions at the time. From that that point onwards, at least, there will be a million to one shot that any given universe is simulated.
By the same logical reasoning, we might expect that this event has already occured in the past, and we already have a million to one shot of living in a virtual universe.
I was hoping someone would bring up one of these or these and we'd have a long pissing argument about things containing itself or not, but I like your lighthearted response better.
Oh well, if Mexico does it, then it must be right. How dare we not follow their example. And in Saudi Arabia they kill women that drive a car, while we for some strange reason don't.
What are you, an idiot or something?
The whole game seemed to be a long-ass night operation. Seriously, do you ever recall seing blue sky in Deus Ex?

Or maybe he got killed by someone.

You know, one really has to be an idiot to pay one's utility bills using a stolen bank account.

So are you implying that the precincts with younger and/or blacker voters, maybe (just maybe) weren't rich enough to buy e-voting machines?
Does anyone know if the elections are paid for with local taxes?

They probably enjoy it so much they go on to build the real ones
Right. And there is no good argument for using ATMs or computers either. Or the Internet, fuck it, who needs it.
You tinfoil liberals are making me sick.

I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter (it's not fair to post AC).

Well, I did say "complete description" didn't I?
Oh, I get it, you are trying to get me to be anal about being anal about... Ha!
Stop that or I'll plug you. And then un-plug you.
