This isn't about Al Qaeda, this isn't about Muslims, this isn't about terrorism. This is about control, and money, and finding drug smugglers.

By their own admission they haven't caught any, yet they've let several through. But don't worry, they did find about 1000 guns that law enforcement officers forgot they had with them.
And they've managed to stop most (but not all) people from carrying a bottle of water into the airport!

How did we build a system that rewards corruption?
Politicians don't "bribe" voters into voting by making outrageous promises. One Politician claims he will do X, the other claims he will do Y. Voter votes for the one who will do X if he wants X done. Not if X is more outrageous than Y.
People are fallible, and will make mistakes, and yes sometimes even outright lie. That doesn't mean the system is BUILT on corruption. Pretty much any system can be gamed.

No, GPL clause 6 explicitly states that you may not impose any further restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted in the GPL. So you cannot sign a contract that prohibits you from distributing the program in accordance with the GPL.

In the first statement you claim you can not restrict the recipients rights. In the second statement you claim BECAUSE of this, you can't prohibit your rights. YOU are not the recipient. Of COURSE you can give up your rights, without restricting the recipients rights.

It's your choice too; nothing forces you to work with clients that refuse it.

I didn't get the impression that their clients are refusing to allow the OP to open source the code. They are just refusing to foot the bill for it. I'm also making the assumption that the code the OP is referring to is NOT actually work for hire code, and he actually has the permission to open source it. He is just doesn't want to open source it for free.

Marriage is a legal contract, it is defined by the government. So yes. people are asking that the government definition be changed. Just like any other law can be changed. These rules have been changed before, mixed race marriages are now legal.
No one is asking for marriage to exist between a person and an animal, a rock, or even bacon.
I find it amusing, because when I was brought up, I was taught that marriage is between two people who love each other. Of course the same people who taught me that now say, no marriage is actually about something else.
