This will only turn attention from the artist who's name is being used as camouflaged over the ads. THis could possible hurt the popularity of the artist. "Piracy is wrong but we'll use deception to advertise..." Evil is as evil does.
Still using Eudora on a Mac (Since 1995!). I dont understand people's issues with the adware version. You have two other options: use the lite version, or pay money. What's there to complain about? I actually like th ad version because I was paying and paying and paying. You can even put the ad anywhere on the screen. I put in the bottom right and I never see it.
My main comnplaint about Eudora is the the Mac version is about 10 years old with no significant improvements. Without some basic improvements that would allow for better 3rd partty improvements. But its filters and mail boxes and search are way more powerful and easier to use than Apple Mail or Outlook.
Why we even need Neilsen ratings at this point (or third party bean counters). Many of us are willing to report waht we watch -at least anonymously - to save our favorite shoes. If a channel like the Sci-fi channel started offering downloads or streams of its shows it will have direct log in formation. As well as iTunes sales etc.
I think the problem here is trying to preserve old methods when when technology allows more direct interaction with the network.
Think of American idol and all the text messages it reads. Couldnt a network just say along with all the other onscreen adverts "text xxx to this number if you are watching this show. Enter into a give away..." And then they could give away cheap swag like t-shirts, coffee mugs and DVD collections. They would probably spend less money than they do for traditional rating info.
Heck, I wouldnt even object to some passive DRM that reports playings over the internet. Why Comcast doesnt use the technology to automatically keep anonymous diaries is beyond me. An actual conspiracy would be useful here.
I kinda think this is dumb. But legally, Apple must do this if it is to main it's copyrights to "iPod."
Historical examples: Zerox, Band Aid, and Keenex.
30 years makes 1975!? Shoot, if you can't add and subtract, how can the rest of your opinion add up? George Bush has better math skills. And, nice fallacy appealing to fanboy.
The number of songs Apple sold speaks for itself. The ratio of CD to downloads does not spell impending doom. The CD "installed base" pre-existed iTMS. Check back after legal downloads have been available as long as CDs.
This is just like the Democrats in every other aspect in life - someone cheated them, they never fail.
Its like they do to kids these days - every one of 100 contestants gets a trophy even though 99 lost.
OK - this article doesnt go into any specifics about why this is happening and who specifically instigated it. But one thing it does metion is CONGRESS. Sorry dumbbutt but the president isnt congress. This is probably some backend deal for pork spending or exchange for social serivices.
Come up with some actual dsata and you can start pointing fingers. But right now this is just an emotional (hippie) argument that has nothing to do with Bush specifically.
how Apple can jump in to the future and copy software that hasbeen released. Yet a constantly delayed, in the works OS doesnt copy an OS that users are already using.
First of all, most people for get that the states are separate entities, with rights etc. THe EC is part of the way states keep from getting steam rolled by the feds. Decond, the EC protects small states. Whats screwed is that most states switched to an "all or nothing" distribution of EC votes that prevents 3rd parties from gaining power and participating in debates.
The only fix we need is to have states divide up their EC votes by popular vote, as originally intended. The EC isnt broke, the two party system is.
arent moving to alt fuels 1) they make money from oil either directly or indirectly 2) it would require updating the thousands of gas stations in some manner or creating yet another sub industry 3) it would require quite a bit of money to retool factories - when US companies are not doing all that great now

I am running 10.4.8 - the latest OS X and an Intel Mac. This has nothing to do with OS 9.

I wonder what this direction means to me.
its way lower resolution and it cant be burned to DVD and it doesnt have packaging. The package item should cost more because you get more.

A way to spin the "Apple going bankrupt" doomsday message. Its been 30 years. Give up. Just open your eyes, Apple is selling quite a bit of music.

The person who responds to the the phishing is responsible for their own actions. Or the phisher.
Or would this make it easier to identify commercials and skip them via a digital scan?
I've "murdered" all kinds of people and creatures in online games. Can you think of the sentence I'd revieve!?
1) The retailer is using Amazon software/ The retailer is part of Amazon
2) Amazon is sniffing the search URL you came from
3) Amazon set a cookie
Cookies can only be read by the site that set them. Maybe you are clicking on Amazon ads on the retailer site.
Random searches prevent any singular profile from going unnoticed. Keeps all would be terrorists guessing.
I have been searched once. I was travelling alone, one way. No checked baggage. I am a white male.

A web browser on a usb flash drive. All dependent files and caches on the flash drive. Plug in to browse. Pull out for security.
"they suggest that Steve Jobs held back on showing more Leopard features so people would not get too excited and stop buying in 2006."
Why would any one wait to buy hardware for an OS update? Its not coming for atleast 6 months.

Apple introduced an all-in-one computer in 1984.

THe only choice a consumer really has is to buy a gas using car or not. Sure, there are hybids and mod kits but the average consumer is lazy.
Plus corn or sugar beet ethanol is more expensive for gas and harmful to the enviornment in its own right.
The only reason I commented is that it is not good business for the oil-car industry to move away from oil.
