I bought an EDiMAX iLink USB WiFi modem today, to replace the pieceofcrap Broadcom one in my Toshiba laptop. It mentioned Vista, Mac and Linux on the front of the box (I suppose Windows 7 users are out of luck). I plugged it in and it worked immediately with zero effort. Only $27.50. Linux support has come a long way. W00t!
Yup, Linux is the same. It recently took me more than an hour to install a printer on the Wife's Vista laptop, while on my Linux machine I just plugged it in and it worked a few seconds later. Of course, a few weeks later, Vista forgot all about the damn printer and I had to install it all over again - I just looooove Windows.
Uhh, Venus is a rocky planet. One Russian probe actually landed there and took a few pictures.
However, one lander doth not a parking problem make, especially since the sulphuric acid in the Venusian atmosphere will chew them up in time...
No, it is not rock solid. It blue screens and crashes on my laptop. Not often, but it does do so, while Linux runs rock solid on the same machine. So in my experience, it is no better than WinXP.
MS believes in security through ignorance, since it makes them money. As long as the common users don't know that their machines are infiltrated, stealing their bank information and sending spam, they are happy, since at worst, they will think their machine is worn out and slow and then go out and buy a new one, chock full of new versions of MS software.
Well, that'll teach them for relying so much on misconfigured Windows clients. Any properly configured Windows client won't work as a supernode, so their network depends on misconfigured, most probably malware infested machines. I'm amazed that it works at all.
Exactly, I'm afraid this will detect students who 'spot' study. The ability to figure out what is important and only study that, and ignore the fluff, will be penalized.
Hmm, for an all powerful god to create everything, know everything and control everything, that god must necessarily be much larger and more complex than the universe. So, who created this god?
Uhmm, the US government isn't really worried about its public image. They can throw all kinds of things at you - the rule book should be the least of Asange's worries.
Most power goes to the CPU, HDD and WiFi devices. The power consumption of the RAM is minimal.
Hmm, I can't imagine what 1 Megabyte of magnetic core would have cost...

Uhh, so you'd be better off owning Microsoft stock? They pay dividends...
Note that MS owns a big slice of the Apple pie.

A quick google of Hotmail data loss tales of woe shows that it is almost a yearly feature now.
These things can be used as a Skype video phone over WiFi, without having to pay rip-off cell phone charges.
Nice, I would buy a handful of these to use as WiFi Skype phones.
Zim doesn't even qualify as a Banana Republic.
No, it is due to the spammers going on holiday to some place where they got to pay for internet access. Spam always reduce on American holidays.
They are using Windows clients. "c:\> nice skypesupernode" ain't gonna do it.

Give them crap in all of Europe? Note that the world is rather larger than the USA...

Plus, since they are working with Uranium, everything gets hot and becomes rather hard to handle, repair and dispose of.

Isn't Java getting on in years and in need of being replaced by something more modern?
OK, so Dropbox is a web enabled clone of the free MS Synctoy...
Phuckit - what is OpenSSL based on? Anyhoo, it is always good to do a review of that one.
We got to commend MS for the most expensive computer cock-up.
