  1. Classic Controllers that dock.... on Super Smash Brothers Brawl Controls Detailed · · Score: 1

You know, though, the one thing I really don't like about the Classic Controller is - it actually does have a cord - you use the cord to connect it to the remote. Not a terrible solution overall (I do appreciate that inexpensive controllers can be made effectively cordless by combination with the remote) but I feel like it'd be preferable to just have the two controllers dock... I suppose the reason it doesn't is because of the bulk and weight of the remote...

I find these grips to be worth the $$. It actually adds a real comfortable feel to the classic controllers. Also if you feel the Wiimote adds too much weight you can always unclip it (the grip and doc are 2 seperate pieces). This I'm good with for all VC titles pre-N64. The only N64 title that I find works better with the classic controller (than the Wavebird) is Sin & Punishment. If they were to offer a Wavebird (or N64 for that matter) shell that I could dock the remote in, they would have another sale.

Nah, it's on Par with console History.

Atari led the consoles for about 8 years (approximately 2 generations worth), then hit the retard button, and the crash of 83 happened.

Nintendo lead for 2 generations, hit the retard button, and created their newest biggest competitor.

Sony lead the pack for 2 generations, then hit the retard button and now (coming full circle) Nintendo's eating Sony's lunch.

The Wii, despite being supply constrained is still the #1 console this generation world wide. Not only have they sold more units in less time than any console in history, they sell more than their competitors nearly every week. It's a difficult argument to make that they will somehow be marginalized and end up in last place this gen. It looks like the Wii will be the PS2 of this generation.

Moving forward, they will have a very large user base that will be very receptive to the "Nintendo Snufalufagous" or whatever they call it. Which will position themselves very favorably (but not guarantee #1 market position) next gen.

You may want to pick up Max Payne then (1 & 2). Both games are real good, work under the 360's BC well and scale very nice. As an added bonus it's like $5-$8 for both of them used.

Even for people that have never owned a PS2 (like me) backwards compatibility is a big deal, because games for new systems are EXPENSIVE and games for older systems are CHEAP. There are some excellent PS2 titles out there retailing for around $20. I get most of the use out of my Wii by playing GameCube games on it (even though I've never owned a GameCube) because I can buy GC games far more frequently than I can buy Wii games, which cost 50 bucks each. PS3 games cost around $60 each, so this is even more of a factor there.

Exactly. I didn't have a PS2, but recently went on to pick up a few Gems in the "$6.99 used" category. I probably have 10 PS2 games now compared to my 2 PS3 games (and seriously thinking of selling Warhawk. Motorstorm is the other, and well worth it).

Some people put A LOT of value in it. In fact if the PS3 didn't have either BluRay, or Backwords compatibility I would have zero reason to get one. As of now I'm waiting until "Some magical time in 2008" when the exclusives worth buying hit, until then I'm watching Movies, and playing PS2 games upscaled on it.

It is REALLY good, and they fixed the lingering issues of the other Metroid Prime games (there's still back tracking, but it wouldn't be a Metroid/or Zelda/ or Castlevania without it). Also RE4 and The Godfather for Wii are the best versions of those games, and for me Tiger Woods 08 controls well, and has near infinite replayability.

I don't use my PS3 as a ps3 nearly as often as I use in ps2/psx mode, but that internal memory card feature makes my life so much easier so I am proud to say I own a ps3 to play ps2 games lol. In the last few months I have picked up an insane amount of ps2 titles for cheap. I don't really enjoy paying 60 dollars a new title at this point in my life I am in the 20 dollar game market.

Same here. Hell at this point if I could play a BluRay movie without the Cell, you could rip it out and I wouldn't notice.

Yes the graphics aren't as good (Tiger Woods is especially PS2-tastic looking), but Madden and Tiger Woods simply play better on the Wii than any other system. If you played a Non-Melee character in Oblivion, and specialized in either Ranged Magic, or Ranged Weapons then would that make it an FPS?

Also Try Metroid Prime 3. I'd say it's the superior FPS setup. Better than Dual analog, and yes, better than Keyboard and mouse. The (left) Analog stick beats the crap out of WASD for motion, the controller as a gun is nearly as quick and precise (I said nearly, but it's close) as a mouse, and the motion controls used to rip a shield out of an enemy's hands (via the "Grapple gun") then blasting them with your gun offers a level of visceral immersion not available in other systems/ set ups.

I don't think Metroid Prime 3 is a true FPS either (It's an adventure/platformer, really), but I would LOVE a FPS using the Metroid Prime 3 engine / universe to come out.

On that note, The GC with a GB player can play EVERY Zelda made except the recently released Phantom Hourglass, (and the dreadfull CD-i games). I still actively play my Gamecube because of this.

I am certain that the first 3rd party game that will do well on the Wii will be Guitar Hero 3. Beyond that, I am not at all sure what else is in the pipeline for the Wii from 3rd parties that will work well.

I agree that GH3 will sell best from 3rd parties, but you also touched upon the problem. What do 3rd parties have in the wings to cater to "your mom" or other casual gamers? Stuff like WiiSports, or Karaoke, or WiiFit will appeal to casual gamers, but if you look at the game lineup (even on the VC) there are VERY FEW games targeted in that direction. Nintendo captured a new audience, but even they have failed to capitalize on this market.
