    They cannot change their licence without approval from all contributors.

    I feel like you missed the point I was making. And all the democrats in office at the time voted for the DMCA so there is no reason to think the outcome would have been different with a Democrat run Congress.

    for matters like this, regardless of who is in power, the outcome is the same.

    Fact: Democrats voted for this bill.

    The post you replied to wasn't blaming Hilary. The post was stating for matters like this, regardless of who is in power, the outcome is the same.

    As someone who used to be a cashier, let me just say that is a shitty move.

    Honestly, if it went to email or text receipts, you or someone else would be bitching at the loss of privacy. If it just was the total, you or someone else would bitch about the lack of transparency. But hey, at least you get to give that cashier one more unpleasant experience for their day.

    If the law is unclear, then the law should be corrected. A judge should not get to arbitrarily change the law to give it meaning.

    How would you feel if the judge made the law "clear" by ruling in Google's favor and setting a precedent for this type of behavior?
