No. A car is a mass produced vehicle. That gives you one standard for what to expect.
Contracting a software project is a one off, bespoke item. Built to your stated requirements (which are unlikely to be perfect in themselves.) It's not rational to have the same expectations as a mass produced item.
So much THIS (replying since you're already at 5). Even COTS software is buggy and it's closer to the analogy of "production line" than bespoke business systems. The best specs in the world won't change the fact that a custom system is inherently more risky than you think it is. MOST large software projects fail. Expecting those that don't to be bug-free is just naive.
I think the point is that cost and availability are not currently impediments to gang members who want guns. So solving those "problems" changes nothing.
3. #2 also applies to gays. They should have a right to live how they wish like everyone else. They don't deserve the special privileges or attention they get from the left.
Just so you know - the government is under no obligation to respect your religious beliefs when establishing law. Ask the Mormons about polygamy, or various cults about animal sacrifices, etc.
I think you missed the point. The Koch brothers are typically anti-AGW in their funding. So this study that was in part funded by people who disagree with its conclusion should in fact be biased "the other way." Yet it is not. It could be that facts are difficult to find a bias in...
Your 70" TV only accepts RCA in or something?

But will it power my kajigger's and whatnots?
Looking for the +6 mod. WHY IS THERE NO +6 MOD?
Do you always go around posting rhetoric that has nothing to do with what the comment you're replying to says?

Boat anchor? How large do you think these drives are?
His email says 3.10.
Man, how you can talk about how good American Dad is and not mention Roger is beyond me. He's 90% of the reason to watch the show.
Off to get some pecan sandies...

The hell?
Reading is *hard*!
This article is a pretty good explanation of why 16/44.1 is as good as anyone needs for playback.
kinda like 640K?
Not even a little.
I've seen folks use a ream or two of copy paper. Works like a charm.
I love how a language that was "fast enough" in the '90s is now suddenly "too slow" in 2013.
What's with the "I need all my code hyper-optimized" crowd on /. these days? We running a Gentoo help forum I didn't notice?
Won't somebody think of the precious CPU cycles!
If you want to build a robot you must first invent the universe...

10 micrometers = 0.01 millimeters
It would seem not...
Moving goal-posts is fun!
Can't this get modded up more! Nothing underscores the need for a third party to supplant one of the existing parties more than this.
Word does if you have a Sharepoint server. It does so very well actually.
Unfortunately Google Docs is about as "powerful" as MS Write is. Many people know about MS Write but don't use it, preferring Word instead.
I'm a Google fan as much as most but Docs is *very* simplistic. It needs a ton of work to compete well.
PowerShell is what a Windows IT admin would be using these days.
I would recommend Java or C# for the questioner. Both are easy to find work in.
