I understand where you are coming from, and seeing something like this done is *very* annoying. But you're assuming that the Post even *cares* about being correct. They, and most of the press, don't. They just want to sell their story. I guess the story of the inventor of PGP feeling *terrible* about his software being used for evil sells better than the truth...
But this could usher in a new world of combat surgery. Think of a situation in which it may not be *safe* for a doctor to be. Or, that the doctor could perform an operation on a patient at location "A", then minutes later at location "B" (thousans of miles away).
Granted this is still a 'work in progress', but it's exciting stuff.
Not necessarily... When I originally signed up with MediaOne, I asked about running servers. They were fine with it, so long as I didn't interfere significantly with the other users.
I think this is just a way ATT can claim to be 'proactive on security'...
This sickens me..

I *am* pissed! I'm running Apache on mediaone's (read: att) network and can't get to my site...
Funny how I had to read slashdot to find out though. I got no notice from att, and can't find a thing about it on any of their sites.
Microsoft *didn't* do this. It's just a result of what the press does best. Call it dumb luck. I've delt with the press, and I think the general public gives them *way* too much credit.
The average news reporter is more likely to check their hair before going on camera then their facts.
Microsoft has teams of lawers who have been looking at the GPL. The Open Source community had better fear Microsoft more now, than ever. MS is looking for a weakness, and I'd be willing to be that they've found one. Never trust the enemy, when they suddenly behave friendly...
Perhaps the GPL should include a bit about source code not being legally used, extended, or looked at by Microsoft people?
I never understood why people think electricity is "free." "You just plug it into the wall!" Where do you think that electricity comes from? heaven? Chances are it's an electric plant. Probably oil, coal, or some other 'bad to do' thing.
Simply because no fuel is burned in an electric car, doesn't mean less fuel is burned 'over all.' To me, the hybrid cars make the most sense.

OS X runs *great* on a 500Thz G20 with half a terrabyte of RAM!
If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough brute force!
You're making the assumption (as I did briefly) that they *knew* they would die.
"If you all just stay calm, I won't kill this baby, and we'll land safe."
Technically, this is considered an 'income' and would fall under U.S. income tax laws (I believe).
Truth is stranger than fiction!
Lots and lots of beer. Find out what kind they like, and send them kegs.
The sort of reasoning involved here is "Well, other people do it, it must be right!"
This doesn't fly. Right and wrong are not judged by popularity.
I don't know how you could sleep at night with a job like that...

Fully agreed.

I think, what was meant, was that there is nothing "in that area" that anyone knows of, that makes that color.
I can't help but think he's just trying to get out of having to write his own music for it...
Call my cynical.
Yeah, and mp3's suck because my 486/66 can't play them. But WMA's rule 'cause my PIII 1.4Ghz at work plays them well.

Now *that* is cruel!
I hope nobody runs this...
