Thank goodness it succeeded because if it didn't, space development would be halted for dozens of years because of stupid, useless, braindead politicians in charge of a budget almost as large as their ignorance and folly.
Lol, America and its patents...
Europe, Asia and Oceania should ally to rule USA patents illegal and happily ignore them, then if they threaten to take any measures, we can threaten them to do the same with their copyrights.
...so I'll pass on this one. Just like I'll pass on Blu-ray and HD-DVD (unless pirated). Dignity > watching the latest movie.
If they offered files for purchase, I'd happily buy them. But I don't like streaming crap, digital restrictions management crap, propietary codecs and formats crap, etc. If I buy something, I must be getting a simple octet-stream. No magic, no "final format", no "copy protections", no crap. That's the only format I accept.

Hai guys I gonna patent i++
We're in the 21th century, for fsck's sake. Alright, the USA is socially still in the late 19th/early 20th. But Europe and China should make an alliance to invalidate and ignore all foreign patents, and if good old Bush gets scared and wants to do something nasty, we can always threaten to ignore copyrights as well.
No need to beat Microsoft, Microsoft will beat itself. Let's consider all the people using computers in the world. Now discard the stupid "clicks and screensavers" kind. Now we have the intelligent users, i.e. the ones worth caring for. The few remaining ones using Windows NT, like myself, are moving towards Linux (and would GTFO no matter what - even if Linux and *BSD didn't exist) when Windows DRM (Vista) comes out. So just wait patiently and let the problem solve by itself.
I orgasm at patent companies falling in their own trap, yet the experience is not 100% fulfilling as the company who won develops digital restrictions management technologies (i.e. software AIDS). Ideally, both companies should pay millions and software patents should be abolished/overcome.
(Offtopic) I don't have enough information to comment on this new technology, but I can say high dynamic range displays mentioned by this parent post rock. Here are a few links if you want to know what/how they are: 123
Yes, I hadn't mentioned the PSP, my bad. Yeah, I own a PSP and despite how wrong not being able to run open sauce on it is, I'm seeing if I can avoid exploiting/modifying it; partly because of the time it takes to learn all that, and partly because I buy my games anyways; that's why I'm very concerned regarding my favourite MegaDrive games for it, I'd like to play them without having to modify it then use an open sauce emulator.
BTW, replacing a product by a superior product is perfectly acceptable (if only a bit infuriating for people who got the older product), it happens all the time with software.
Where's your Sonic 3 and Knuckles? In the Sonic Mega Collection Plus, of course.
Oh, awesome. Then where's my Sonic Mega Collection Plus for PSP?
Sega isn't run by idiots.
LOL man. I mean it, I laughed in real life, in front of my monitor. If I were editing an encyclopedia and had to do an article of "idiot", I'd ask current and past Sega directors for pictures to illustrate my article.
What the heck, is Google paying taxes to the media mafia? If Google wants to keep their asses in my "good guys" list, they better side with my rights, and do what they can to hurt and piss off obnoxious media corporations.
This is very good news, and finally we see they're releasing a good number of games, not just 5-6 (pm àst compilations: it's not fun to pay whole price for 5-6 games, older than gramps --great games, but older than gramps-- you already own).
The only downside to it is: Where's my Sonic 3 & Knuckles? Goddamn them, they must've thought this through; they'll be releasing another collection with the missing great games. I think they are missing...
- Sonic 3 & Knuckles (S&K with Sonic 3 on)
- Sonic 1 & Knuckles/Bonus stages (S&K with Sonic 1 on)
- Knuckles in Sonic 2 (S&K with Sonic 2 on)
- Shining Force 2 (I bet my ass this will be in the next compilation, too great to miss)
- Shining Force
And I pray to... something that they get a deal to include Wonderboy 5 in Monster World (AKA Monster World 3). They could even throw in Wonderboy 6 (Monster World 4) as a freebie, using DeJap's fine translation.
These organizations evolved into digital terrorism, and I don't think there's any need for them today. Standards can be developed as RFCs, within ISO, IEEE, or a number of alternatives that would be way better than a bunch of crazed, hungry, fat lawyers.
Law already protects copyrights, so there's no need for such organizations to exist; and seeing how they take illegal actions themselves and terrorize citizens with lies and unjust threatening, they need to be terminated, their lawyers disqualified, and all their resources expropriated by the State, to be distributed among the affected citizens to repay them, or donated to affected open source communities to help develop P2P and other technologies.
Hell, I still have some doubts regarding the goodness of copyrights. Don't think I'm a long-haired hippy communist, far from this, but software/media/art patents (and their holders) should be killed with fire, and copyrights should be ok if they weren't the excuse for lawware industries to attack and pest the world.
...and as a game, I find it very fun to punish undesirable schoolmates. I would not limit it to school but release a whole series where you have to fsck with/beat up/kill bullies, jerks, crackpots, gangs, etc. all around the world. It is fun, therefore a game that meets its ultimate purpose, therefore a good game, end of the story.
If our "modern democracies" were modern and democratic, maffia organizations like RIAA, MPAA, and every country's respective digital terrorists should be illegal. Only those profiting from these pests want them to exist, but who cares for what's good for citizens, let alone what citizens want.
Thank goodness it succeeded because if it didn't, space development would be halted for dozens of years because of stupid, useless, braindead politicians in charge of a budget almost as large as their ignorance and folly.

and a good gotcha at it. This guy needs +5 something.
...just ignore Windows DRM, I mean Windows Vista. I wouldn't use it even if they paid me to. It's a matter of principles.

Especially after evidence on dolphins' intelligence provided by various studies and documentaries. I doubt a goldfish can match that.
