Well Einstein... Fixing one bug doesn't mean that you will re-visit the whole thing... Even the simplest code in Windowss is part of the BIG SYSTEM, with any component interacts with others . And this is a very complex system. Nobody does as he says. Fopr example, patching a problem with the Linuzzzz kernel doesn't mean that it's patched forever... Nobody can predict that some other problems will raise even with the newly patched code... Oh yes, another thing... MacAfee is the perfect software, I forgot...
Interesting how, when talking about OSX they say that Vista is a ripoff of it because of the similarities of the shells, yes, they provide a screenshot of RedHat which is a copy of Windows 2000 explorer. Guess what, the word ripoff is nowhere to be found there... Partiality is everywhere...

I'm working for an university which uses mostly Windows but in MY department they use all Macs.... I would DIE to use Windows instead or at least (god forbid) Linuzzz.... No luck until now but this may be changing fortunatly with the new leadership. The point is: t depends on who decides over you. A flexible boss may make your dreams come true.
Now that we clearly don't have a monopoly on the OS sold on Dell, how do we justify Linuzzz failure on the Desktop? Bad move Dell! The best thing that Linuzzzz user need is just MS monopoly. Please don't get our coolness and elite status away from us. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

OS is like everything elese: there are some good pieces of software and some real crap out there. Most of OS is like everything else, normal software. OS is not heaven and have a lot of problems as well... Linuzzzzzz and OS is not better not worse than enything else. OTOH if you are religious...

How do YOU know that unrelated code is imported? It's easy to speculate but the fact is that you know NOTHING about this. Or you think that Windows mobile uses the same features that Windows for desktops. The only thing in common these 2 products have is the word Windows. The same can be the case here. So, do you think that Linuzzzzzzzzz is a better alternative? Wih all it's 2 thousand cooks' spagetti kernel code?

I have upgraded my whole department at the university (50 computers) and will update 2 labs (2x35 computers). Yes we have a VERY good academic price. And Vista IS good no matter what you say....;-)
In an overcrowed marked like this you need a real innovative and functional product. Maybe Apple's PR machine (which can sell ice to an eskimo even if the ice was mediocre) could make some money here. Oh, DMRed of course!
