The deep sea and Everest are still experiences limited to this planet. Once the barrier to space is removed we will have an enormous variety of places to visit. I think the desire to travel in space would actually increase.
I previously used MSE, updated regularly, until I got infected. I manually scanned all downloaded files before running them. Every. Single. File. Trust this product at your own peril.
SpaceX founder and CEO just tweeted: "Issue with Dragon thruster pods. System inhibiting three of four from initializing. About to command inhibit override."
Solar array deployment was delayed while engineers attempt to regain attitude control of Dragon.
In the comments that followed the launch, after orbital insertion, a problem was reported with the Dragon capsule. The downlink from the spacecraft was broken. No further details were provided.
The Gertboard includes an ATmega328p which can be programmed from the Raspberry Pi via putty. It includes 12 LEDs, a motor controller, A/D and D/A converters, switches, and other components.
I manually scan everything I download and I make sure AV is patched before I do, but MSE completely missed several viruses and trojans in an executable recently, and these were not new viruses. This caused major headaches and many hours of troubleshooting. If you fully trust MSE as your only AV solution then you are unprotected.
Let's put it this way: If Sony did this, I would buy a Sony device without hesitation. (Anyone who knows me, knows that I am saying I would betray my own principles to play with this stuff.)
I have the SONY HMZ-T1 and it is fantastic. I use it with the PC and PS3. I haven't tried connecting a TrackIR but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
The article claims that knuckelballs are really no different than normal pitches, mathematically speaking. My guess is that the author has never tried to hit a knuckleball pitch.
The Sony HMZ-T1 is a little more expensive than this proposed project, it is available now, and with a few tweaks and mods (try this AVS forum) it is a fantastic VR headset. With mods it is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time and the OLED displays are high quality.
Awesome images and a great app, but it could be improved by allowing users to mark interesting features. The data set is too big for researchers to visually scan it all.
The Open Pilot project makes great hardware/software and it's open source. Although the current generation does not meet your need for autonomous flight, the next version will have that capability: http://www.openpilot.org/products/openpilot-revolution-platform/
I agree that these stories are sensationalized, but I don't think they're lame at all. It's great to see excitement in the national media about science results. Would you prefer more Kardashian headlines?

No benefit to *US* the paying customers, but it certainly benefits EA by allowing complete control of the product and when it can be used.

Instead of running ethernet cables, use wifi. There are several options, such as: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10822 http://ruggedcircuits.com/html/yellowjacket.html
people who live near high power lines develop cancer at a higher rate than the general populace

It would also mean that geniuses like Steve Jobs or Albert Einstein might still be alive.
I cannot believe Jobs is even mentioned in the same sentence as Einstein! Outrageous!
I'd say it's more of a problem with the entire patent system and not the performance of the individuals.

Built-in spell checkers will skew your results. Use grammar instead.
Works great as a NAS but be aware that the best bandwidth you can get is 1 MB/s
A run from NY to LA would run you several billion dollars just to get started
LA moves north at 33 mm per year, which would likely cause problems for tunnels from LA to any destination in the east.

Keep the inside of your computer clean. Clogged filters and fans consume more power to keep the computer cool.

I hope the tunnels are deep enough to avoid destroying all of the ancient artifacts still buried beneath London.
Yeah that's pretty funny. The secret service will get a kick out of it too, except the agents I've met don't laugh very much.
