I hate Diebold and electronic voting as much as anyone else, but has there been any attempts to figure out exactly how easy it is to rig fake paper votes? There's a lot of effort put into showing the weaknesses of electronic voting, but what are the weaknesses of paper voting and how do they compare against e-voting?
I got Madden 2k6 and hated the QB vision. It complicated an already complicated game, and was totally unnecessary. What they need to do is make other parts of the game more realistic, like the timing aspect of throwing balls, not add some unnecessary complexity with which direction the QB is looking. For example, you can basically throw to a player at any point in his route and he will grab for it, whereas in real football that is impossible. The other thing that is very annoying is that defensive backs covering wide receivers can go and block throws even with their backs to the ball.
In 2007, QB vision is now an option to increase the accuracy. Great idea, it decreases complexity. It also adds more features to make the running game more unique. I would say 2k7 is a step above, but I'm going to be playing it in earnest this Labor day weekend to see how it really cuts the mustard.
At least at Fry's in the Bay Area, on the day it comes out, Madden is usually around $35 as opposed to $50, so that is always the best price point to get it at.
There are plenty of stupid naming conventions we have already for historical purposes. I mean, what's really the difference between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, or the Atlantic Ocean? Nothing... but for historical reasons we have named them as such.
It's the same as Pluto. Yes, technically we can say it doesn't fit a perfect definition, and yes maybe Charon isn't exactly a moon, but FUCK IT. It's pretty obvious from looking at how the plane of Pluto's orbit is vastly different from the other planets that it must have come from elsewhere, but like every adopted or foster child, it's part of the family.
Don't go around and start re-classifying stupid shit like Ceres as a planet. Yes, maybe technically, it could be, but it never has been, and there's no point.
Astronomers, instead of wasting your and our time with this nonsense, go find a new solar system and name everything you want as planets or asteroids, plutons or whatever the fuck you want. The fact that Pluto has been considered a planet for a long time is good enough to just leave it as it is. We're not going to find new planets, this isn't a classification that will cause things to get fucked up, just leave it alright, and start discussions on things that are more relevant.
TA was the most advanced, most beautiful RTS of all time. It was totally ahead of its time, and even things like playing online worked well. I lived in Canada and played against my cousin over the Internet (he only had a 56K modem) and it played fine, with over 1000 objects moving on the battle screen.
Please please please bring an update to this absolutely wonderful game!
I thought that Tivo uses the MIPS chip, is this going to affect Tivo in any way?
