    Some old mainframe computers I used to worked on. The different models (speeds) were determined by a firmware constant. If you knew enough, through a hack, you could upgrade your mainframe to a higher model by changing a constant.

    Would you be OK with having your name and home address publicly searchable from your license plate?

    So that anyone who sees your car can find out your name and where you live?

    If you are in an accident the other driver can go to the DMV and obtain your name and address from your license plate.

    This is really a desire of Mozillia to separate Thunderbird from Mozillia's money. Mozillia has lots of income from Google. Thunderbird has no independent source of money and could not survive independently without Mozillia's money.

    Take a look at the SEC filings of a handful of major Pharma companies. Most list 30-40% of revenue as marketing and advertising.

    The same percentage as in most other industries. Companies that build and sell medical devices that are never sold or marketed to patients spend about the same percentage.

    Actually, he would get a ticket. You don't have to be driving a car to get a ticket for drunk driving. You can get a ticket solely for having control of a car. For example, you can get a drunk driving ticket for sleeping while drunk in a car.
