    All I could say is that the best tool for windows development just got better. The new feature that could impact my work most is LINQ. I dunno but the VS Team of M$ had been doing some good things...

    How was the flesh preserved, and not eaten by microbes? Suddenly covered by sediment seems like odd explanation.
    The dinosaur was probably buried by his kin after his death. I'm sure the culprit was arrested afterwards and brought to justice...

    ... but this is not the same as this one http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/01/03/0418221. This one is led based and seems to be smaller but the PicoP one is laser based and images seems to be better. That is the one I want on a mobile phone. OTOH I don't want these on my mobile phone...

    How come Vista is less popular during the first year compared to the first year of XP? It sold 10% more if I read it right.

    Or maybe they're still counting those pc that came with Vista Basic / Vista Starter editions that was willingly replaced with another Vista edition (x2 Vista sales) or a XP or a Linux...

    What they should count is not the number of sales but the number of Vista machines pinging their update servers. (Well since most are connected now anyway, that could at least be an alternative way to count)

    It seems that the extension in question was the .cdr extension used by Corel Draw.

    But it was Corel that publicly squawked when it realized Microsoft had blocked its .cdr file format -- still used by its CorelDraw graphics application -- in last September's Office 2003 Service Pack 3 update.


    If you ask me, Corel Draw is one good drawing tool, a good partner for Adobe Photoshop. (I'm not a pro at these tools, I just stumble upon them when I rarely need it...)

    I agree and considering the trend, this part of the medical process would soon be done by robots. For most of us, the annual medical checkup (stethoscope part) is the only time we get touched by the opposite sex (hopefully)... This is truly a sad day in history...

    On the other side, having a historical record of your heartbeat / breathing (lung) sound could help in some medical cases...

    I always assume an antivirus is only as good as its current signatures. Heuristics are good but nowadays, I could literally count with my fingers the number of times it did the job. The best defense is still knowing what you are running with or without an antivirus. Most of the annoyances I see are done by the local script / virus kiddies, their work rarely make it outside the country so the signatures against those are not a priority. (Although what I hate is that most of this local scripts/virii are just copycats of popular ones, yet popular AV's rarely detects them...)

    What I find bizarre is that religion is not considered a form of mental illness in the US. The thought of one such mentally ill leader having access to the largest stock of nuclear weapons in the world is... disturbing.


    It could very well be that religion is part of human nature (in one way or another) and not a mental illness as you percieve. Otherwise we would not have most of our written/recorded history full of it.

    Yes, every asteroid on television will undoubtedly hit over New York or Los Angeles. There must be some exceptionally high gravitational field at those locations.

    I'm not sure about that, most of the asteroid I had seen on television are hitting Kansas, particularly this small village...
