I'm currently waiting to upgrade my computer to be able to run the new games coming out (Bioshock, Crysis, CoD4, etc.), so I decided to jump on the 99 cents for a month subscription to play the Sam and Max episodes and Planescape: Torment, and whatever else I can squeeze into this month.
I've been happy with the service so far, and I think while I probably won't subscribe continously, it's not a bad deal even at $10 for a month or two if you're in a situation where you can't run the newer games coming out, or we're in the middle of a gaming drought.
Best Buy is the only store I've seen a selection of UMD movies in. Wal-Mart started carrying them again, but only for the big display of the PSP, and only 5 different titles (all of which are Sony titles). I assume Sony paid Wal-Mart to carry them in the display.
Either way, the prices were ridiculous for something you could only play on your PSP(I remember when Stealth came out and they charged $30 for it because it came with a couple levels of Wipeout Pure).
I don't know, in my experience with Oblivion (before my hard drive crashed and I still haven't felt like reinstalling it) I did notice myself running from wolves even after I had gained a few levels because they were actually just as hard to defeat as before.
This is interesting because all the kiosks at my store that let you view the Wal-mart website claim to be running "Mozilla" in the error messages when you try and go to a page it doesn't want you to go to (Anything outside Wal-mart's pages).
Also, the service is in beta, so it's possible they might open up support for other browsers, but not likely.
They made Gun, too. Which, while incredibly short, was a solid game with a great story and great voice acting(although those really don't have much to do with Neversoft).
Honestly though, have they had any experience with music games before?
Don't underestimate the "hype machine".
Most people don't read sites like this, and so the "hype machine" is all they see for the system, and all that matters to them.
I work at a big-box retail store, and I've had more people than I can count in just the last 2 days asking me about how they would go about getting a PS3, and a few of them actually said they don't really know much about the system or don't really want it, but it looks cool so they'll get it if they can.
The Wii? I've had about 4 people ask me in the same time period.
And I bet I get more than one person calling back and wanting to return their PS3 because the rumble "doesn't work".
I haven't played Oblivion in quite a while.

I loved Morrowind, but Oblivion just didn't grab me in the same way. Like others have said, it was shiny, but there wasn't much substance. The only mods I had downloaded when I had been playing it were ones that fixed the UI (getting rid of all the icons on the compass, making the world map actually *fill* the screen, allowing me to view more than 6 items at a time in my inventory...basically making it less "console-y"). I had been playing it heavily, more out of the fact I spent 50 dollars on it and wanted to get through a good portion if not all of it, when my hard drive died.
That was 3 months ago. I've since replaced the hard drive, but haven't had the desire to install Oblivion yet. Which kind of shows my feelings toward the game. When I eventually (if ever) reinstall the game I will definitly download this mod and any others that have come out since that *hopefully* will improve the enjoyment of the game.
I don't mean any disrespect to the Xbox 360 owners out there, but I honestly feel that the game being developed for it as well severely hurt the final game.
Boll funds them himself. I know he originally used a loophole in german tax law to do it, not sure if that's the case still.
