The current situation is a continuation of the S&L Crisis, which was "solved" with the creation of the perverse incentive and moral hazard of central banks backstopping the banks.
Boy are you doing some crazy mental contortions to bypass the cognitive dissonance.
Idiot Malthusians have predicted the imminent end of the world due to overpopulation for hundreds of years. Every time they go out on a limb and say the end will be by a given date, they are outed for the charlatans that they are.
You have to understand that you can't just pick a hypothesis and refuse to refine it with the coming of new data. When you continue to make wrong prediction after wrong prediction, you have to consider the possibility that your hypothesis is FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED, and start from scratch. Let the DATA guide you, not your own dumb ideas that are based on nothing but your own destrudo.
Wow, the levels of smug coming from your post are positively toxic.
Face it, the Volt is the worst HEV ever made. They burn down people's garages a week after a minor accident. Not great. The Volt is a POS that was designed by committee and was forced on Chevy as a condition of the bailout. This is hardcore fascism, but because the sock puppet on the left hand was the one that made the decree, it MUST be SUPER AWESOME.
I really hope you are kidding. The US has meddled/fought wars in all but one of those countries (China), and has installed puppet governments in most of them, again, excluding China and I THINK Haiti. Could be wrong on that one though.
A banana republic is generally defined as a nation where the government is not subject to the rule of law.
From wikipedia: In practice, a banana republic is a country operated as a commercial enterprise for private profit, effected by the collusion between the State and favoured monopolies, whereby the profits derived from private exploitation of public lands is private property, and the debts incurred are public responsibility. Such an imbalanced economy reduces the national currency to devalued paper-money, hence, the country is ineligible for international development credit and remains limited by the uneven economic development of town and country. Kleptocracy, government by thieves, features influential government employees exploiting their posts for personal gain (embezzlement, fraud, bribery, etc.), with the resultant deficit repaid by the native working people who “earn money”, rather than “make money”. Because of foreign (corporate) manipulation, the government is unaccountable to its nation, the country’s private sector–public sector corruption operates the banana republic, thus, the national legislature usually are for sale, and function mostly as ceremonial government.
Isn't collective punishment a crime against humanity? Might as well shut down the entire internet because there is CP on there. Might as well shut off the phone system because pedos use it. Might as well place everyone in the country under house arrest because pedos.
Christ, get me out of this shithole banana republic.
"Home-schooled" "armchair" + no counterargument=failure.
If you want to say that I don't know what I am talking about, you'd best tell me what you think you know and why you think you know it. Failure to do so indicates that you just have no idea, and instead are functioning on the level of an unthinking zealot.
You would do well to read about the "halo effect". Understanding your biases makes you much less of an abrasive asshole.
If you do this, I won't buy it. Lots of people won't. Stop this stupid BS.
You really need to learn to think in the long term. People will pay a lot for a game when it first comes out, but if you do this DRM crap, you MUST follow through and offer older games at much lower prices, and continue to do so for YEARS if not DECADES. Used game stores do this for you, and allow people with less money to remain rabid fans, and buy your big games when they first come out. If you kill the used game market, you cut those players off. Once they are cut off, they will find other things to do. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN.
If you must have DRM, you need to offer games from old systems that run on emulation on your new systems for free or next to nothing, and you need to offer older games at prices that used games get now. You need to keep people playing. If you keep playing these stupid DRM games without offering a substitute, then people will stop playing, and you will go the way of the music industry. Maybe someone like Apple will come along and save your sorry ass, and drag you kicking and screaming into a new, profitable business model, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Yes, I do have an agenda. It's called "the truth", and the truth is that libertarian philosophy is the polar opposite of fascist philosophy (where libertarian philosophy is more moderate than anarchic philosophy, and fascist philosophy is more moderate than absolute statism). To lump them together is either ignorance, or an attempt to suppress the rising tide of libertarianism in this country. That is the agenda that was apparent in your post. Whether or not that was just an accident, I don't know, nor do I care.
The Libertarian Party can't really be given a label, as they have not produced any policy that has been implemented. They are thus hardly worth discussing. The R's and D's, however, have produced plenty of policy that can be examined, with effects that can be judged.
Maybe if you raise the CO2 concentration a hundredfold, rather than 2-3 fold. I don't have any numbers on that, but the ocean is pretty big compared to the amount of CO2 in the air. Further, the CO2 should be used for photosynthesis and sequestered under the ocean floor as time goes by, as the ocean is far from sterile.
If you have any studies or numbers on the amount of carbon required for such things to start happening, I would be glad to see them.
Ignorance is pointing out the fact that mutually exclusive outcomes are mutually exclusive, and that any theory that contains such predictions has major problems?
Uhhh, yeah, they are. If a theory is non-falsifiable, it isn't science. Evolution is highly falsifiable. AGW isn't. Sorry, but that's the way it is. The change is so small that it falls within the noise of natural variability of both weather (fluctuations in water vapor content have hundreds of times as much effect on atmospheric heat retention as all the CO2 ever produced by man), and climate (we don't really understand long term climate, or what caused past climate changes). We don't even have a single control (whereas we have practiaclly unlimited controls and unlimited samples to show that evolution happens, and the ability to read paste changes in the genetic code, which are predictive, etc etc).
Also, ad hominem is a logical fallacy. If you want to find the actual truth, rather than descending into political squabbling, you would do well to avoid it.
Not really. Those who seek to return the power to the people are not fascists, by definition. Libertarians (capital L) are clearly not fascists--they are the opposite of fascists (and your attempts to paint them as such reveals a great deal about your own agenda). I don't know about the Greens.
Wrong. The people in charge then would be called libertarians today. You have things exactly backwards, and as such, you are a tool of your own oppression.
You would be a lot better off if you stopped "stopped reading" when you see some trifle that you disagree with.
The fact is that the government back then was TINY compared to what it is today (2-5% of GDP vs today's 40%, less than the smallest government in the world today, actually). The politicians who worked within that system without attempting to destroy it were by definition libertarians. Only those who wished to change the system, and centralize power and gather it for themselves were something other than libertarian. At least, from our point of view.
Do what we say, and you get everything, fail to do what we say, and you will all die!
That's SCIENCE!!!! I swear!
The current situation is a continuation of the S&L Crisis, which was "solved" with the creation of the perverse incentive and moral hazard of central banks backstopping the banks.
"One of these days I'll be right, damn it! Then you'll be sorry, you'll ALL be sorry!"
Price oil in gold, silver, or any commodity, and you will see that oil isn't scarce relative to anything except dollars and other paper currencies.
Priced in gold, oil is below the 50 year average.

How EXACTLY should I do that? Most car companies don't post customer lists on the internet.

lol
My guess is government car fleets are being stuffed with these shit-cans for blatantly political reasons.

That page says 9.5 mpg in the air. Which is fine by me. I don't mind paying just 3X more to fly to my destination.

This shit right here is why I FUCKING HATE April Fools Day.
If I was an evil dictator, I would implement all of my worst schemes on April first and no-one would bat a fucking eye.

You have no argument, so you resort to ad hominem. What does that say about your position?
Ignorance is pointing out the fact that mutually exclusive outcomes are mutually exclusive, and that any theory that contains such predictions has major problems?
The world needs more ignorance of that caliber!
He also glossed over the worlds largest carbon sink, the ocean. I'd say that more than evens it out.

You have been told that your line of reasoning is fallacious, yet you continue. You are not rational.
Go to lesswrong.com and learn to stop doing things like that.
You are attempting to justify the system as it stands now. Stop it.
