So the requirement can be boiled down to something like this,
The rasterization happens at the server end (having 3d hardware)
and the image generated should be transferred to the clients. This can be speeded up by using compression / encoding etc. but in the end getting a FPS = 30 which makes the game playable is not an easy task doing it real time. Maybe this has to be looked at from a different perspective or its not practical in real case...
That would mean killing its own business. Thats probably the reason for creating the browser in the first place since firefox was harming its Advertising business with image block and ad block. The improvements on speed are remarkable though, but its not good enough to quit ad block:)
True, it (twitter) can be at time surprisingly useful. Also I think one of prime moto of this kind of technology is to bring out as much personal info online as possible so that some one can do data mining on it as create business.
I agree...
I don't know on what basis the disappointment is calculated here or maybe its just the authors own opinion.
Example: VR / Biometrics / Ubuntu, even if few people disagree that its a disappointment, it disproves the ranking.
Frankly, I think those rankings are a waste of time.
Turn off the fan, and make it calculate square roots in an infinite loop, or enforce a race condition in threads...
The processor will be in ashes within seconds
Seriously, where is the creativity here? Look for new things. Air / Water / Land transports are old now, there are more interesting unexplored areas - time travel, teleportation ? etc
Ahh UT GOTY vintage gold....
They can do all that, but the real question is will it work out?
Why spend the effort in writing articles like these, it looks as if I am reading a personal blog ...

You can try it with Crossover, it works, but its buggy.

Err... after reading your post?

Eclipse VE??? Nothing like it. Java + Eclipse is a marriage made in heaven.
Haaayneways, java's main advantage is its platform independence, and I think its still at its best.

Scribd and twitter, both from the web2.0 trend are not innovative technologies and there is very little need for such apps.

Is the website accessible ?
That could actually work!

kaufman cabs
lossless mp3
What a drag ...
Okay, for it to actually work ... the servers should also support such bandwidth.
Probably needs a media which is not only uncompressed, but also contains redundant data (kidding)
Hard to believe so many people are still using windows ...

If this news came while Wright brothers were in progress of making their aircraft, that would have been amazing.
Real genius ...
Is this OSS's reply to Windows XAML? This could be a nice alternative.
