However, not all countries have it marked as PG-13. Here in the UK, it's simply a PG with a warning about battle scenes.
Besides, I know the plot, I want to see the film, and appreciate it when people don't tell me what's changed between the film and the book - I know things will be slightly different, but I want to go in without knowing how it'll work out, so I can form my own opinion...
Just an idea - wasn't the Crusoe chip supposed to be ideal for this kind of thing? Much better battery life etc. (I get 12-14 hours out of my Libretto with extended battery, 4-5 with standard) and still minimum of 600Mhz processing speed.
Perhaps something like that would help power these items, without killing batteries every 3 hours.
My personal feelings on this are that Taco's been damn good to at least tell us what's going on.
Yeah, the advertising changes suck, but there'll be the option to subscribe, and get rid of them. I'll do that - I don't paying a reasonable amount to keep Slashdot up and running, and if the sub helps (as well as taking out the bloody ads!:) ) then I'm all for it.
I think that probably these changes will be for the better in the long run - however,/. is no different from any other community, it hates change, and will always be part of the "The old way was better" mindset when it comes to the/. site - considering we're supposed to be all geeks and interested in the way the web develops, wouldn't it be better to say "Ok, we'll give it the benefit of the doubt, see how it goes, whether it develops or not" before flaming the hell out of it?
And Irish/Polish (depending on the nation reading this) terrorists have hijacked the Goodyear Blimp. So far they've bounced off Canary Wharf, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and Telecom Tower...
Of course they occur naturally. How else would we know that they exist in the first place?
Yes, there's still a lot of theory that they can be created Artificially but out there in space, there's loads of them...
However, for one possible future scenario regarding people building black holes for energy purposes etc., I'd suggest David Brin's "Earth" - a wonderful novel....
The other option is the new back-up drive from Iomega they've released something called the "Peerless" - a 20GB back-up disk, like the great-grandchild of Zip disks...
The original quote was "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" - the idea of stinging like a butterfly and floating like a bee is somewhat different...

Without knowing for sure, I'd guess they put the rates into the T&Cs/EULA when you install it.
After all, everyone knows that no-one reads the damn' things. But if the rates are in there, then it does fulfil the rules/guidance from ICSTIS (the people in UK who run the premium-rate lines) and OFTEL (the people who say "you naughty naughty company" - unless you're BT) with regard to "properly informing" the caller of the rate.

I've heard of this - never seen it. Hmmm - perhaps I should stay in more.:)
It seems like a good point - broadband people can get used to high-speed access etc., and it's a good thing in general to have broadband, but it's also socially divisive - in the UK it's high-cost for high-bandwidth.......
Pedantic, I know, but how do you get to see a radio production?

Ummmmm. I'm sure you said this in the post above....
Ummmmmm. Maybe you're right.

Is there such a thing as unequal parity? Sounds like a tautology to me...
The sig comes from the wonderfully named Pooh Goes Apeshit.
I've no idea who the original writer was, but it's all over the place on the net, as this google search shows.
Yes, it's true, they do have these abhorrences to nature.
Mind you, so does the UK.
And they all taste horrendous. (Allegedly)

Anyway, that's my viewpoint - like it or not.

Why is it that I see "Mormon" and my brain just takes out the second "m"???
OK, it's not all the time, but 100 times a year still comes out as one every 3.6 days - i.e almost two a week...

Can we have a Beowulf cluster of these things?
Sorry, it had to be done...
Nope - probably means "tovarisch", which is the Romanized spelling of the russian for "Comrade"
And which is conveniently established at the start of the film when the shutters can't be opened....

And close the link properly - should've used that Preview button!!!
I think it's meant to be humourous, dingbat.

Amazing - three smart comments, and not a "Yay! Frost Pist!" among them...

Ooops - should have put "utterly different" in there, not just "utterly". One day I'll learn to type...
And of course the andylaurence in the URL address is utterly from the andylaurence who happens to have submitted this story in the first place...
