That would require Sony to still be dominant. In the videogame market, it was observed some time ago that both Microsoft and Sony expected everyone to buy a Wii. After the sluggishness of the disc format wars and our good old friend the DRM CD fiasco, I don't think too many people who keep up on the PR are fond of them. The PS3's Linuxishness might pay off with the OSS crowd, though.

Half a second of lag is EXTREMELY low for what I'm familiar with in satellite internettery. Memory more lends to numbers like 7500 ms for most commerical satellite links. You'd be just as well off with IP over Carrier Pigeon for gaming.
Er... it works by using the distance between the lines in a closed shape to determine the depth of the figure, so if you draw a rectangle, it comes out as a cylinder. Not that complex. Escher wouldn't do a darn thing, since it only works based on simple outlines.
