Sorta like touch to create a file:)
Don't forget IEHIBALL - Joke at IBM
Sometimes the word EYEBALL was inserted into code so that it was easy to spot in a printed (core) dump.
I just have to answer to a post like this (and to all the rest like it) not for the content because it is an opinion amongst others but that the poster did not have the courage to attach a name to it.
Do you not believe in what you say?...and have the guts to stand up for it. What? you worried the NSA is going to put the death squad after you? Come on!
Or is this just flame bait?
Maybe time to eliminate Post Anonymously on/. I tune in and post less frequently because of it.
How often has MS done it to others. They did it to Borland, WordPerfect Corp, Novell, the Lotus people, the DB can't remember their name people, and yes to IBM.
"DOS is not done 'till 1-2-3 won't run" was the saying it those days.
Let's say you find a hosting company in a country that is very libertarian and will not comply with any request for info.
The routers to that place can be sniffed here in North America (or anywhere along the route) and voila the trick is done. Not as easy as getting logs but...
If your subjects are that hot, then an easy break-in into the premises of that hosting company. (or a bribe). Remember Watergate?
Oh I am blocking. I like the poop thing but redirecting to someone else...Hmmm then I become just like that blogger. Sorta. Just being gross/obscene I kinda like but what if a kid comes by?
Getting back to the IP subject, aren't we then just protecting our IP which only 2% of college people believe is OK?
To be fair to bloggers, the majority of them do not even know they are doing this hotlink thing because it is just something that is there on the Internet and it's all free. Right? Hmmm I'm in a loop here.
If someone reading this is doing this hotlink stuff, Hey just steal my image outright and put it in your space.
Simple. In 10, 20, 30 years some of those people will own something or have invented a gadget or game or written a book which took years to research. (expand on this in your field, try music). Now someone is publishing that or using "your stuff" to make money, lots of money. It won't be so funny then.
The best example of that is a blogger with a popular site that brings in 60-70 bucks a day in Adsense. All of the material is from someone else and all the images are hotlinked to another sites. One of those sites is yours and now because that site is so popular you get to pay 10 dollars a month in extra bandwidth. You are a pro photographer and have invested lots of time and much $$ to work up your portfolio. Hey that site even sells your pictures. Nada to you.
I fit neither of the descriptions above so copy away. Will it be that much a non-issue when it affects you directly?
Please no comments about money not being everything. True to a point but not when you are late on your rent or car payment or mortgage. Yes Mortgage, from the french language meaning a death pledge, something you pay till death.
Simple. All those people (the general public) that just buy a computer at a retail store and go with what everyone else has. Those people use to buy XP. Now they buy Vista not for Vista because they have no idea what that is. They just buy a "Windows computer" to surf, burn CDs, listen to music, and generally kill time. I know it is not a concscience choice of this OS or that but the numbers do add up. What can I say? Hey I'm still on 2K.
Whether bought at Best Buy or sold to OEMs it is still a copy and should count.
How come when Mozilla (or whoever) quotes number of copies downloaded (to imply users) we never say a word or dispute the figures but when MS gives figures then is no end to the outcries? Of course there is marketing BS but everyone does it. OK so cut that number by a third. Still good numbers.
I must have download FF at least the number of versions it has since day one but only 1 user.
Amazingly GE announced in February that they can produce "incandescent bulb to match compact fluorescents". Amazing what a bit of competition can do or is this just a scam to brake CFLs. Wonder how long they have been sitting on this one? Anyone know if they have shares in the electricity companies? http://news.com.com/8301-10784_3-6162567-7.html
2007-50 gives 1957. So that makes it later than japanese american internment. I was not alive during WWII. For what it is worth, my father had to register too because his people were also on the wrong side.
Obscene in the sense that this is a "forum for debate" and generally you do not say that someone "sucks another dick". You attack the ideas an not the person(s). I understand what you meant and it is not to be taken literally but there are other words and ways to say what you meant. Just doing M$ says a bit.
Ok obscene was a bad choice. Maybe a touch less then obscene. It would really take a lot to offend my senses and in person your words would be quite correct to say.
And it was not my wish. Just an observation I have made over a period of time.
"Saved automatically on the network" On whose network? To me this says their network. Do you really want to save all those letters to clients or CVs or proposals for a contract on someone else's computer?
I bet this sounds great for people that make word processing packages. We all know who that is.
Brazil Firewall and Router is Linux based with a front end similar to any commercial firewall/router box bought in stores. It is free and supported in many languages from a forum portal http://www.brazilfw.com.br/forum/portal.php
It is similar to IPcop and can run from a floppy or HD. For a 12 employee shop it is perfect. There are numerous addons provided in the forum download area.
Sorry but I can't seem to get excited about this scoop. It borders on pettiness. Who's next? ugly people, deformed, sick, weird, nerds?
I don't question the report or it's accuracy. It's probably right. I just did't expect it to make the news at Slashdot. Especially here.
BTW I am about normal weight for my age and size.
A stand-alone packet sniffer. This is what I use an old P3 for.
Sorta like touch to create a file :)

Geez, I hope they consider theirs "unbreakable" :)

You got something to say? Say it. I'm listening.
Yes, you are correct.
Hurrah!
It's OS/2 payback time. Have to laugh.

Well basically nowhere!

LOL Yes my thoughts too. Was about to write that when I spotted your post.
It all smells like a lot of bovine fecal matter. $$$ is really behind it all as usual and how they can extract more from us.
Hey! those last lines were copyrighted. Don't read.
Bad maths. Not 2% more like .4 of a percent.

Remove the disk drive and tell them the information is classified and highly sensitive.
Is it possible for me to just say "DUH" and not have my karma changed to negative or worse?

Too late! Already did that :) Makes it easy to remember.

You can't believe how correct you are except it may not be 50 years. I was around 50 years ago and remember what "freedom" was.
And we won't lose it but just give it away for a bit of security. There is a quote about this but do not remember it exactly.
Looks like "what's his face" [b i n l a d e n] is winning.

I find all this funny. This following comment gets a -1 ratingc id=18888535

This comment (The real reason...) is a +1 and it is obscene but anti M$ (not offended)
The first is just sarcastic but pro M$.
Hmmm... Mine will be a zero or - because I dared to question.

Does this sound like commercial?
