  3. Useful? on Twitter As a Campaigning Tool · · Score: 3, Insightful

If it's to be a really great campaign tool, then surely it should be something that a large percentage of the population use. I don't think that's Twitter somehow.

  4. Re:Could be a fake. on Oldest Computer Music Unveiled · · Score: 2, Funny

Following one aborted attempt, a laughing presenter says: "The machine's obviously not in the mood."
Clearly. The machine realised that the presenter was the worlds first digital music pirate. And to make matters worse, he was laughing like this:

    Yarrrrrrr!
  5. No Child Left Behind on Helping Some Students May Harm High Achievers · · Score: 5, Insightful

It's all about finance really. If you pay more teachers to teach smaller classes, most of these issues go away. The other thing is that children with learning disabilities get taught by themselves or in small groups because they are a special case. I would say the same should be available to gifted children.

The point is, do you still think Iraq was about freedom? It's just a shame the people are lied to and misinformed so easily just because it's their own government that's doin the talking. I'm sorry but I don't see any difference between Bush and Ahmadinejad in this respect.

  7. Re:what about the obvious ? on Road Rage Linked To Automobile Bumper Stickers · · Score: 4, Insightful

That's right. The phrase 'linked to' in the title is a dead giveaway. Otherwise the submitter would have used 'caused by'.

Also, tell your boss your requirements and before he says no, repeat what you've just told us. I bet you don't get to finish the whole story before you get exactly what you want. And a raise, a company car and possibly a few less pats on the back...

  21. Re:Herman Miller Aeron... on Best Chair For Desktop Coding? · · Score: 1

I work at a 'top tier investment bank' in London. There are hundreds and hundreds of IT staff and everyone has Aerons. Unless they ask HR for something special for back problems or something. Also we have yearly workstation health checks to make sure everything is comfortable. I still slouch until I'm at 45 degrees though and the Aeron can be adjusted to accomodate that. Another vote for the Aeron.

  22. Re:Food prices on SwiftFuel Alternative To Alternative Fuels · · Score: 1

What is food? It's fuel for humans. We have to realise that the days of cheap energy are numbered. Market forces will help balance the price of food against the price of fuel. At some point it becomes more profitable to produce food again. Also remember that expensive fuel makes food impossible to produce cheaply so the equilibrium will probably settle in a similar place.

I think we should get a photo of that guy KICKING A FLAMING MAN, blow it up and make it the welcome sign at Glasgow Airport. Underneath we should have the words 'Glasgow Welcomes Careful Drivers'..."
