One Xbox costs Microsoft about four hundred dollars to build. This does not include marketing, development and other business costs. Currently, you can go to any store and buy an Xbox for about two hundred dollars. So, if you go buy an Xbox, its somewhat equivalent to stealing two hundred dollars from Microsoft.
it wasnt sarcastic, but given the original post, i can see why you though so. WM9 is really good format and in fact they are using it show movies in theatres since it can be shown on a 60ft screen and still be clear enough.
If somebody RTFA then they would ahve seen that the only reason they go after parents is because the They IP addresses are registered in the Parents name. They dont care who downloads, just sue the person who owns the computer/ip
Let me tell you something. in a year or so, i will have my bachelors degree from a major US university. However, when i look for a job, i have to apply for a h1b, which automatically menas the company is going to pay me a lot lower than what it would have paid an american citizen with the exact same qualifications, graduating from the same university, and in fact, having paid a shit load less for his university fees if he was in-state ( my current tution is 9k/sem, instate is around 1-2k/sem). So when i buy a house here, its going to cost me the same as it would cost you, but i will get paid lower. All i'm saying is that if everyone got paid reasonably, then maybe the cost of buying a house will go down.
i'm an indian
Now why is ther a view that for some reason american should get paid more than the indians for doing the same work. Guys.. u were getting overpaid..somebody came along and charged an economically viable price and all of the major companies jumped on the indian bandwagon. i saw a post about someone how used to get paid $33/hr getting dsiplaced by an indian programmer at $9.5/hr . now if you had been willing to do that work at $9.5/hr maybe you could have kept your job.
Like how everyone in your house with a computer has to buy their own copy of a song/album if your computer isn't on/connected/available
Well i'm sure you had to spend an equal amoutn of moeny to purchase all three computers right?. why is it that when it comes to software, you want to buy it only for only computer.?
check out the new Indiatimes messenger that can connect to five different messenger systems and chat simultaneously with all of them and even invite all of them for a conference. If this technonlgy is as goods as it sounds, why is there no hype about it?. why have i not heard of it before?.
well ususally u cant install most games on alan with one copy w/o violating any laws..its different only if u are connected to a public server..some one correct me if i'm wrong...
the country owns the main pipeline,ie vsnl from which other ISP branch off their bandwidth. i think there is one new isp that gets bw from the US. not sure abt that
i attend Purdue University and i can tell for sure that there is now reason for there to be software piracy. tell me tell you why.
Purdue University has an Agreement with Microsoft which enable us to recive original, lisenced versions of original Microsft Software for 5$. u can check out the detaile here> http://www.purdue.edu/MSCA/.
We get all software right from Windows Xp to office to the full 6cd pack of Visual Studio 6 for only 5 dollars.
Every student is entitle to a copy and there are no limitations.
Futhermore, Purdue's Computer society host and Ftp mirror for almost all the possible Linux ditro's thereby not even needing us to use up extra bandwidth to download from outside.
Very recently i belive there has even been agreement to let the Computer Science Majors to download all of the Microsoft software free of charge from a web server starting from even the arabic version of Windows 3.11 up till windows Xp.
And ALL this this is being done legally. therefore i see no reason for there to be Software piracy at Purdue University. The article just mentions there had been raid and i think this is just to Defame Purdue Univsity. It does not even say that any thing was confiscated at purdue university

The first one is ownned by akamai, and MS is just parking their domain on akamai's servers. So it doesnt technically constitute as MS using linux
