Capture One has a demo, 30 days full. That is what sold me. It is not Aperture, I knew that. I knew it was gone "sniff". I tried Photos, and knew I needed something else. Before I could decide to pay for Lightroom, Adobe went subscription, so I looked around. I tried Darkroom and it was promising, but then I tried a demo of Capture One, found a ton of tutorials, and I was happy. I bought it.
Why? Is their gas tank empty? I had the heated seat on in my Volt the other morning, I think I ended the day with one less mile remaining than normal. I have noticed more difference in the past month due to the headlights being on in both the morning and evening commute with the days being shorter. During the summer the ac probably reduced my miles remaining by 3 or 4 on my daily 28 mile round trip.
Really? My Volt gets me to and from work just fine. I bought used so no direct tax incentive for me. Cost about the same as any other 2 year old used car of similar size and miles. I spend less than 10 dollars a month charging it, compared to 45 a month for gas for the Accord it replaced.
The touch screen controls take a bit of getting used to, but once set up, I can control most stuff from the steering wheel and the control stalks are like 95 percent of any car I have ever driven.
Keep saying EV's are not ready for prime time. I'll keep driving mine, laughing at you.
You know, I bitched about AT&T taking longer than every other mobile carrier to waive overage fees for Harvey victims. Then they waived my overage which was not caused by Harvey (I was on vacation in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and using GPS for several hours every day.) Got back on the 26th just in time for the flooding, no damage here either, glad both of y'all are good too. Anyways, I would be more than happy to pay the overage fee, but I am sure AT&T will just apply it to my next bill instead...
Good point. I do not know, but based on the timing, it sounds like the same thing happened. Comcast wanted them to put it on everyone's tv package. The others wanted it only on a special sports tier.
Comcast, the Astro's and the Rocket's started Comcast Sportsnet Houston about 3 years ago. Lots of local sports content, HD shows and of course all the games live. ATT, DirecTV and Dish all refused to carry the channel. The content gradually shrank to infomercials except when a game was on, then finally the channel went into bankruptcy. ATT then bought the remains and the same day launched Root Sports. Dish and DirecTV both picked the channel up. Interesting how it happened in LA too...

Otherwise we could end up with the DEA smuggling drugs for the Sinaloa drug cartel, the ATF selling guns to violent criminals, or the FBI smuggling child porn.
3) point at (it works like a mouse) the "input" app and click
Use the other remote that came with the TV, not the mouse remote. I have 10 LG TV's from that era at work, they all came with a standard remote with number buttons, vol + -, channel + -, input, etc and the stupid mouse remote that we never use.
How about being arrested for DUI on a "Non Refusal Weekend" The cop lies to the Judge saying "I smell alcohol" and boom, you are forced to give a blood sample. Because you professed your right to a lawyer? "I do not submit, I want a lawyer." Try it, even if you have not had a single drink, and you get pulled over for "suspicion of DUI" if you say "I do no submit" you will get blood drawn, forcibly if you continue to ask for a lawyer. So much for the 5th...
Obviously it's NOT working, see Patriot Act, DMCA, TSA 'Nude' radar searches, NSA metadata, etc, etc, etc...
Also, it seems that a wifi control app would be ideal for a sous vide cooker. That shouldn't be much more complicated than a crockpot, why are they so damn expensive?
Because it has such a pretentious-sounding name.
Because it has to come with a 250 page book describing what "sous vide" is.
Because Gordon Ramsey doesn't do it, so nobody else wants to, except those who watch pretentious cooking shows with Michelin chefs. (Doesn't Michelin make tires?)
Because rich people wouldn't pay for it if it was called "boil in bag".
Sous Vide means under pressure. Not that pretentious. Michelin makes tires. They also make maps and travel guides, presumably to make people drive more, hence needing tires more often. Providing ratings for restaurants goes along with this. Sous Vide is not about "boiling in a bag" most sous vide cooking is not done at boiling temperatures.
Purpose built sous vide cookers are expensive because they are niche products. They also usually have some form of circulation and precise temperature control. Could you rig one up with a PID, element and stirrer? Sure, but to make a UL or other agency listed appliance there is a lot more that goes into it. But hey, don't let that get in the way of your rant...
Got a link for a bar in Clear Lake with a private electric taxi service? Clear Lake is not a "distant coastal suburb of Houston." It is not coastal and is within the city limits of Houston.
Do you have a source for that? Certainly there are narcs, but I've never heard of any of them enrolling in high schools undercover. Cops threatening high school kids who got caught anyway to cough up some names, sure. But when they invest an undercover agent (= lots of money), it's going to be for a big investigation, not to find out which high school kid sold a dimebag to which other high school kid.
Wow, amazingly enough, nobody is forcing you to buy an iPad mini
Dude, baseball stat nerds predate computer nerds by many years. Hell, punch cards were probably based on baseball score cards.
Except there were no hostages or hostage takers, in this situation.

Capture One Pro. Although they offer yearly they also offer perpetual. Hopefully they do not do away with the perpetual one.

so +5 insightful for wanting those features, launch a kickstarter and make the phone.

Well, I guess there was only one thing that you could do...

Or c) buying the same stuff from the same Chinese manufacturer and putting your label on it and selling it for the same price.

ps- where did you find a working-mode chip terminal two months ago in the U.S.?
The Walmarts around here have had them since May or so. My local homebrew shop got theirs about the same time too.
^^ This! Put this everywhere!

Considering the movie from which you quote comes from way before slashdot, well whatever, I forget my point...

There you go. The story quotes one of the sheriffs stating that they have done this in other cities throughout the county as well.
carve (wood) into an object by repeatedly cutting small slices from it.
Read further into the dictionary... Substitute (wood) with costs
Or did I just miss a really bad joke?
