DreamHost.com domain features?
DreamHost.com domain names are $9.95/year. However, apparently it is not possible to see the domain features unless you are a customer.
Thanks for the link to the InterNIC list of all domain registrars.
000domains.com domains are $13.50 per year, with a list of no-extra-cost features. -

I just love being right.......
Note the Admin contact. :) -
000domains
They seem fine to me. Send me email reminders at 90/60/30 days that the registration is about to expire. Have had no other communication (in or out) with them.

Will this really prevent WHOIS scams?
People who use this service will definitely see the number of whois-related mail to their mailbox go down, but I'm guessing that most of the people who sign up for this service won't be the kind of people who would fall for the scam anyways.
The real concern is people who are website newcomers, or less sophisticated users who still use NetSol (Veri$ign, whatever) to register their domain names. Those people are unlikely to even realize that it is possible to register their domain names through another registrar.
And, while I have a chance, I'd like to do a plug, if I may. 000domains.com has had some of the best customer support I've experienced from a registrar--I usually get a response to any of my e-mails immediately. They're not the cheapest, but they are reliable and friendly over the phone, which is great when you're trying to transfer your new client's domain away from Network Solutions! Our company has over 50 domains registered with them. -
Re:Is there a good registrar review site anywhere?
these guys seem ok... 000Domains.

NetSol's scam
I believe they've intentionally broken the system for information update via email in order to force people into dealing with them via fax and phone. Of course, this "expedited service" costs $30 a pop. Run, don't walk away from Network Solutions. My personal recommendation is 000domains.com

Re:OpenSRS?
Here are the big players in OpenSRS
T3Link
Domain Monger
000domains
There are a lot of them, but I suggestion going with one of the above! -
Switch To OpenSRS
OpenSRS resellers have a super-easy set of password-protected web forms for updating all of your info. The cool thing is, if for some reason your reseller goes out of business (imagine that!), you can still do maintenance through opensrs.org.
Two that I like and have used are
Domainmonger
and 000domains
Plus, the price is usually cheap ($13-17 per year).
It's easy to switch from NSI/Verisign to these guys. The instructions are on the sites. -
I tried to move my domain from NetSol...I made the mistake of waiting until the last day it was valid to request the change. The new registrar sent the request in to NetSol, and, two days later, NetSol replied and said "This domain is expired, so we won't let you transfer it". WTF? If they hadn't sat on my request for two days it wouldn't have been expired!
So, weeks later, even though it expired, my domain name is still working, under NetSol control. So I can't just go re-register it. They want to make it next to impossible to transfer a domain away from them. Well, they can fsck themselves, I will just lose the domain if I have to; they will never get any of my money again.
The registrar I tried to transfer to, 000domains.com has a policy stating that they will charge a 3.95 fee for requests to NetSol for domain transfers that don't go through because they are expired. However, they recognized NetSol's shadiness in this transaction, and did not charge me the fee. I have nothing but good things to say about their service. They were extremely responsive in their email and refunding my money for the failed transfer. I have registered a new primary domain with them for $13.50 a year and I recommend them to everyone I know.

Never had a problem...
I have had great luck with 000domains.com. Haven't had a problem yet with registering a domain name with "explicit 4 letter words".
