Re:Indeed, Stored Procedures Will Be NiceThis story will of course bring out all the PostgreSQL trolls,
And the SQL server trolls as well
The response to this post (if there are any) will go like this: A bulleted list of general gripes with nothing to back them up.
Nope. A bulleted list of links:
- No real (ANSI) stored procedures and triggers
- No reliable replication and backup
- No online consistent backup: the best they have to propose is to backup the files! Gawd!
- No real (ANSI) subselects
- No triggers
- Loads of messy incompatibilities with ANSI standards
- ... and I could go on and on
...

A better idea for a logo
What does everyone think of this logo as an emblem for the hacker community? I think it's much more universally understood, much more eye-popping, and just an all-around better choice. I'll be curious about your suggestions.

Re:(Off T. ) BIG NET CRASH?
Actually, I've been noticing the same thing. I keep checking the real-time international satellite and fiber links monitor up on this Web site and you can see that the capacities are way under normal.

Re:Third Time's a Charm? It's not enough to kill a server, but I posted links to three images, around 80KB each, on my home server a few days ago fairly deep down in the discussion and got 3904 hits from it.
Wow. Impressive. However, I would have hoped that by now the Slashbots would have learned not to click on image links occuring in a random Slashdot comment...

Nice boat, btw!

whatever
we don't even need friggin dns anyways. you'd learn a lot more and have more fun if you just typed in random ip addresses. and it would be even more fun if everyone had a dynamic ip.
try incorporating http://198.247.175.96 into a limmerick or poem -
