/. on Mars!!
The "exclamation point" shown on http://www.metaresearch.org/solar%20system/cydoni
a /asom/artifact_html/slide.asp?image=18 is clearly not "!" but "/." Someone on the surface obviously created a giant palm robot running on parrot and driven by a mutant hamster
Probably the Techno Talking Babes or Neil & Bob -
Re:yea
Sounds kinda like After Y2K...the Techno-Talking Babes are pretty compelling...

Re:Cameos

Being a nitpicker can be fun..
Those Ars technica (Technical Arts,
:-)) people must've read the Linux Kernel 3.0 joke post, refering mainly to After-Y2K stuff..
"Also, the 3.0 kernel should be out in the not-too-distant future, and Linux will only get better."
Unless Linus has changed his 2.4 plans, it's still 2.4 .. Maybe 2.5 will morph into 3.0, but first we need 2.4 before 2.5 forks off, and then we need at least 12 months for a "major" version change worth of work. Really. It's a shame that such a good piece of review has such an obvious typo. Then again, they might've been confused by this piece of information, even though it really didn't mention release dates. Oh well, caveat Ars Technica.

Best dressed--second on Nitrozac
Not only does she dress well, but she has an awesome comic as well. After Y2K is the funniest comic I've seen. It is in color (and usually animated), and appears daily. Unfortunately there's no award for "Person that keeps hackers spirits up so they can continue coding."

Re:stigmaWell, I can sympathize with the "stigma" and the feeling of having to prove oneself female. On the other hand, you have to admit that when you feature faceless photos of yourself wearing mid-calf black leather boots with stiletto heels (and blond hair that looks suspiciously wig-like) there are bound to be some questions raised. Hell, I am a female geek, and I simply can't imagine myself doing such a thing. For some reason, a person whose garments are furnished by Frederick's of Hollywood just doesn't seem genuinely geek-like to me. (On the other hand, I have been known to don black negligee`s and six-inch heels on occasion
;) But when I'm hacking, I dress for comfort.)The other factor that makes me suspicious is the drastic change in the artistic quality of the strip since its beginning. Granted that some of the characters are obviously rotoscoped (or something similar) from photographs. Compare first strip to last Thursday. Even the lettering has changed.
I think it's certainly possible that Nitrozac is misleading readers WRT gender. OTOH, who really cares what sex she is? (Besides all those geeks with crushes on her. Sad. Deeply deeply sad.)
I'd like to go out with you, but I need to defragment my hard drive.

Bill Gates just took over After Y2K
There has been a major event on 9/9/99,
... the evil Bill gates cartoon just took over After Y2K! Help us Nitrozac, you're our only hope! -
Girlfriends and such
Imagine recording all your old girlfriends with such a device? Or buying the latest version of some hot Hollywood babe? Sounds like an interesting future we're headed for... Hmmm, now if only Nitrozac would release Nitrozac Live v. 1.0!

An After Y2K book, novel, and/or movie please
Ditto to that... and may I be the first to suggest an After Y2K book (or mini-series would be fine too). Nitrozac has burst on the scene as one of the funniest, most creative, and hottest talents in years! Hmmm., maybe I can raise enough capital...
