Re:He believes in God?
In fact, Jesus didn't redefine sin; he redefined the punishment for sin because he was to bear that punishment himself on behalf and in place of mankind.
He sort of did, in fact. It's the new covenant vs. the old. Most (not all) people hold that wearing polyester is no longer a sin, for example. Most use http://biblia.com/bible/niv/He... (Hebrews 8:13) as the proof. Then again, one is free to cherry pick the bible as one pleases.

Re:Creationists love Social Darwinisim
[sarcasm]Why should the poor have more now when they have the "Kingdom of God". If you ask me they are getting the best of the deal, so we should take more from them. [/sarcasm]
That would be the Catholic doctrine (poor in life, rich in heaven for eternity). Your typical (protestant) creationist actually believes the Grace of God manifests in this life too, so rich people are chosen already, and the poor are screwed pretty much now and forever.

Re:Creationists love Social Darwinisim
It also brings up social Darwinism as if it's an aspect of evolutionary theory
Actually, Social Darwinism is the one kind of Darwinism your typical Creationist is happy to believe whole-heartedly in. If you start believing the poor might not necessarily deserve to be poor, a whole lot of modern Republican politics suddenly starts to look very unchristian.

Not sure how you reckon that. They are a good _starting_ point. http://biblia.com/books/niv2011/Mt22.34-40
Heck, 90% of them comes straight out of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Spell 125.

Christian persecution myths ARE persistentgarden variety anti-christians Christians haven't been persecuted in the western world for 1500 years.
Then again the majority of people in the USA who call themselves Christians would make Jesus puke. So these irrational war mongering jerks are opposed on slashdot, but that's not anti-Christian, that's anti-irrationals. -

Most Wiccans do not believe in Hell nor Satan... but it is the usual deception of Satan, who is the source of most Wiccans "experiences"... yes, Hell and Satan do exist... like Paris and Moscow exist, it is a fact!
Great. Hell is a "fact" just as Moscow is a "fact".
Nope. No bias there. -
Re:This is not the country our founders built
Just because someone claims to be an adherent of a religion or does something in the name of a religion doesn't mean that everything they do adheres to the religion.

Re:Ep 3 was suppose to be dark and gritty
Let's watch and enjoy the movie. But don't go looking for the meaning of life on them (insert Monty Python joke here). Same goes for Star Trek, the Matrix and The Lord of the Rings.
The Meaning of life is not revealed in either Star Trek or the Matrix.
Tolkien, on the other hand, pretty damn well exposed Christian theology through his portrayal of good and evil in LOTR.
1) An item whose temptation was power over enemies, and whose cost was a loss in the recognition of good and evil. (See the Old Testament, where the Ark of the Covenant, rather than being venerated and safeguarded, was used as a magic weapon of war.)
2) People who "use" the ring end up being "used" by it. This paradigm is almost as powerful as Foustus' exchange with Mephistopholes - where Meph says he comes immediately when summoned, not to serve, but to entice and gather the soul who summoned him by feigning service long enough to secure his possession.
3) True and false friends (Sam, Smeagol) (Jude Thaddeus, Judas Iscariot)
4) An unfit sub-hero whose position must be usurped (Bilbo Baggins) (bad popes)*
5) A falsely ill king, betrayed and poisoned by the man whose trused position was ill-used. (Herod and Herodias)
*Most popes were respectable, and some were great, but there were a few awful ones as well) -

Well in 1998 the pope has made an apology for the crusades.
