Re:There are at least 11About the cores, the interview is in EDGE Magazine. Though You can find a response from Bizarre's site admin about the cores in PGR3 here. Geometry Wars also uses all three cores.
Guess what? Here's your proof proving my outrageous claim. But I guess you won't believe it coming from the developers mouth?
Just because you have problems with the launch titles, doesn't mean everyone does. Kameo's a darned good game. PDZero, while flawed, is still fun, especially in co-op online. Call of Duty 2 is absolutely outstanding. So is PGR3. Those are the games I tried, and there's plenty more from the launch lineup (ie, out on the 22nd), that I'd like to play. So just because YOU don't like the games doesn't mean they were lacklustre.

Re:Console vs PC
That Joystiq article has been confirmed wrong by multiple game developers.
Heck, even the little marketplace game Geometry Wars uses multiple cores. -
Re:The gamecube is good enough
Pretty much. What I've seen has been pretty much crap compared to the current generation. Slight improvements at best; no high-poly models, particle effects, etc.
Then I suggest you open your eyes and see some more. Take, for example, PGR3. Whilst in PGR2 (a pretty damn fine looking game by last-gen standards) they used 10,000 polys per car, in PGR3 it's closer to 100,000 on average. To me, 10x increase != "slight improvement". Add the fully scaled reflections, HDR lighting, amazingly detailed buildings and you have something way beyond anything capable on last-gen hardware.
Now I'm not arguing here about nebulous concepts like "gameplay" or "fun" or even "artistic style" which everyone can have their own opinions on, but pure hard facts - which you seem unaware of. -

Re:Core Gamer?
The XBox 360 is the first high-def console, and I find myself not giving a rat's ass, because I would rather have fun games than high-def any day.
Geometry
Wars. A $5 Live Marketplace game.
It's like someone threw Tempest, Robotron, and Asteroids in a blender, then added a ton of eye candy. Pure hard-core old-school 2-d shooter gameplay in the prettiest package I've ever seen. I think I'm more excited about this one than any other launch title. In fact, I can't seem to stop watching the video.
It just oozes gameplay and fun. -
Re:Great timing, pity about the hardware
3 cores is good in principle, but they're awfully slow, and the ATI graphics
... :-((((((((((
Put the crack pipe down.
In 30 seconds I found the following bits of "information" to counter your arguement:

Re:So why isnt there a movie?
Probably since the PGR series doesn't really let you hit buildings, so it wouldn't be remotely easy for Bizarre to show that. But nothing I've seen so far looks too different from the earliest video they released (running at merely 25% of full power, too). Bizarre's track record for honesty should also stand for something - if they show off the game's looks, that's what it is going to look like at a minimum. That's always been the case.
And as impressive as these textures are, what Bizarre is doing with the graphics isn't as difficult as it may seem. If you look at the wireframes of the buildings you can see it isn't done through some insane amount of polygons or anything unbelievable like that. It's just really good source material (ie high rez textures from photographs) combined with a really nice implementation of technology like normal mapping (seen in Doom3, HL2, Phantom Dust, etc.). Aesthetically it looks amazing, but this isn't some amazing visual leap beyond current day technology.
