Ouch.. kiss Michigan goodbye..
With the Good Doctor taking a bow, my former home state will be left to the not so tender mercies of that sinkhole of mediocrity and self congratulatory comedy, http://www.bobandtom.com./ I weep for the future.

Re:Another free song
Weird Al is one of my favorite people ever. He's pretty good to his fans, he fights the true fight, and is hilarious to boot. I can't wait for this next album.
He used to be one of my favorites as well, until he was interviewed on The Bob & Tom Show, where they played a song from The Electric Amish. Amazingly, a couple months later, here comes "Amish Paradise." When asked about his inspiration for that, no mention of who clued him in to the fun of the Amish. Best part is, many Amish in Indiana absolutely love The Electric Amish (but don't tell the parson!!!). -
Nothing new here, reallyFor two or more years, Bob and Tom have been offering MP3s of their shows to subscribers to their premium service. Is this really all that different/newsworthy? Or is the media as bribable by press agents as I've often suspected?

Re:Christopher Walken EffectDunno why Kevin Pollak is particularly responsible for Christopher Walken's dancing celebrity.
Once when Pollak was on The Bob and Tom Show, he did a dead-on Christopher Walken that is 1) hysterical and 2) re-played with regularity. Pollak is hilarious and dead-on with this imitation, and having heard it, you don't forget it. Also, Bob and Tom can have a slashdot-like effect since they are a national radio show with a big audience.

Bob and Tom
The Bob and Tom Show just did a report about this, and have dedicated todays show as an official antidepresant show, much like the Prozac of radio shows.

Re:YRO?
I understand what your saying but do you have any simpathy for the driver doing 75 mph in a 35 mph and finaly gets a ticket because a cop just happened to be on the road?
Because the law isn't enforce in a particular area doesn't mean your not supposed to follow it. I have little simpathy for those that think other wise.
This comming down heavy and getting things back to the way it was supposed to be has had an impact on my favorite moring talk show too. BOB&TOM They imeadiatly had to tone down thier show but didn't do it kicking and screaming. Some of thier funiest skits involved your imagination, a comedian and a few body parts/functions. It took a while to get used to hearing them again with the pg rating.
Like a speeder driving down the road. They knew what they could get away with. The problem was when they tryed to get away with more then allowed. It took another event to happen before they started making sure no one else did it. Some people call it getting back to the basics.
I think one of the reasons you see it as dirty pool is because you don't find anythign wrong with his style. Lets compare what happening more to your floating regulation analigy. Lets suppose a company that chrome plates parts for cars creates a toxic waste, they have to dispose of the waste and have rules were they can do that at. Now if the company doesn't pay attention to those rules and start dumping it in a field behind a cornfield somewere because it is closer and nobody is paying attention to were they get rid of it. Now all the sudden, somewere else totaly seperate from this other companies area, drinking water become contaminated and they find that someone else was ilegaly disposing of toxic waste. They decide to check on every one dealing with toxic waste and come down on our chrome platting company. Do they deserve any simpathy? I mean the rules were always there, they knew what they had to do and what guidlines they had to follow. So what if knowone checked for 10 years and they decided they could get away with not following the rules. Maybe the core of thier companies competitivness is based around being able to dump the toxic waste at cheaper rates in a field somewere. If that company goes out of business because of it, does it make government thats starting to enforce the rules any more wrong for doing it?
Rules and laws are just that. They should be followed wether or not some agency is looking over your shoulder making sure you following them. We are adults here not children. We shouldn't need someone constantly monitoring us.
Now i might have a differnet opinion if at any time someone has complained about his content and the FCC said it hasn't crossed the line then renigged on that statment later. To the best of my knowledge they havn't. They just havn't been holding hands and inspecting the bathroom to make sure people wash thier hands after using it. -
ObMrObviousHuh. I never made the connection.

Bobcat Goldthwait said it best...
and includes this choice quotation: "..a German fan was outraged that the cockpit dimensions of an X-wing star fighter varied from those in the movies. Blackman looked into it and found that the game's version was indeed off -- by 6 centimeters."
As is oft heard on The Bob and Tom Show, Bob (Bobcat) Goldthwait said it best about rabid Star Wars fans:
"Have any of you nerds ever seen a vagina?! Because if you had, you'd throw that Stormtrooper cookie jar right out the window!!!"

Hi, my name is Oliver, and I'm an Ebayaholic...
I've purchased many, many items on ebay. I have also sold several items on ebay. I've had one bad experience with each side.
Buying - I ordered some of those 'breast enlargement pills' for my girlfriend. It's not something I wanted for her, but she was planning to buy some of the more expensive ones from a TV advertisement and I told her we could save money by using ebay. I ordered four bottles (to get the free shipping offered) and was told I would have them within 3 business days. Two weeks later, still no pills. I wrote several times and called and left phone messages. I eventually got an e-mail stating that they had been shipped to the wrong address and a new shipment was being sent out and that I would be receiving 6 bottles instead of the 4 I had paid for. One and a half weeks later they still hadn't arrived, and I left negative feedback for that seller. In less than 2 hours after posting the feedback, the seller used PayPal to refund my money. I then turned around and ordered the same pills from a different vendor, my girlfriend used them for a couple of weeks and said that they were making her fat and so she threw them out. :-(
Selling - I had an old Sega Genesis system and about 20 games for it that I never used any more. Posted it for sale, one guy kept bidding and rebidding and drove the price up high, won the auction and then never sent any money and never responded to e-mail. Within one week, his feedback dropped from around +10 to -5, so it was obvious that someone was abusing that account, no way of knowing if it was the true owner or not. I notified ebay and was allowed to re-run the auction a second time for no additional cost and ended up selling it to a legitimate buyer for about $20 less than what the first auction closed for.
Since I first started using ebay, I have purchased 3 computers (all the same), 3 digital cameras (all different), a digital camcorder, jewelry, perfume, children's toys, software, hardware, flashlights, those glow-chemical bracelets, lockpicks, magic tricks, universal remote controls, more stuff than I can even remember, and those are the only two incidents I've ever had.
I don't think using ebay is any more unsafe than most other forms of shopping, I'd worry more about buying/selling stuff through a newspaper classified ad, because you never know what's going to happen when you get to the other person's house, or worse yet, when they come to your home.
As a side note, my two greatest ebay deals involved Bob & Tom albums. I had a fairly complete set of their CD's, a total of 17 discs, one autographed, and one autographed poster. I sold the entire collection for $420 cash to someone living in the same town. A year later in the back of my closet I found a copy of Bob and Tom, A Day At the Race, a very limited edition cassette (only 500 copies made) that I listed and sold for $450... not bad considering I'd only paid $10 for it when it was new, which wasn't all that long ago... -
Which one gets Bob & Tom first?I listen to talk radio for the most part... Sirius has more talk, but Bob & Tom are Clear Channel properties, and I'd love to be able to listen to them without the gaps between affiliate stations.
Ideal would be XM with B&T, Rush, Liddy, & Art Bell
;-) As soon as they come up with that lineup, I'll buy a unit the next day. -
Moulin Rouge raises controversyDisclaimer: I've not yet seen Moulin Rouge, but so many people have outright hated it that I wonder if I ever will.
Just this morning on Bob and Tom, the guys, Chick and Christy all talked about how much they disliked it - especially Christy. The biggest beef most people have is that the period doesn't match the music that was chosen. This was obviously a deliberate choice, but it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
Many people have described the move as an embarrassing music video.
This all makes me wonder how it will fare with the Oscar judges. Will they represent the people, or an industry bias toward "something different". I guess we'll see.
