Feh. Add that to the pile of game sprite comics and other webcomic formats for people who can't draw...
I'll see your "irregular webcomic" (and maybe recommend some fiber or something) and raise you a brickfilms.

Re:Good Christ, not this again
Yes, this was discussed in an earlier Slashdot story, " RIAA Argues That MP3s From CDs Are Unauthorized", and in a bunch of other places:

Watch this: Robota
An awesome brickfilm about a robot who gets robotic legs instead of a wheel chair. -
Bit disapointing
I tought the video would show the 'growing' of the Destroyer. Instead I see a lot of hands that at the end somehow produce a Destroyer. Although the building is nice, the movie is not really worth looking at.
Next time ask these guys to do the building. There are some real (large) beauties there. -
Re:built(This is an excerpt from my research notes on the vile Lego cult. I wanted to get these out before they had a chance to silence me. Please, please, please, don't let your friends or family succumb to the temptations of Lego. The life that you save may be your own.)
Sad cases of compulsive behaviour, such as Eric who has dragged his unsuspecting sister, Dorothy into the despicable cult. The cult recently opened one of their "temples" in California (of course). They have many local churches.
Like the Scientologists who have their "e-meter", these lego freaks have their or psuedo-technological props. They even have an mystic Oracle that you can ask questions on the internet. And just like the leader of the Scientologists, their leaders aspire to be JRR Tolkien. Not only that, these foul fiends have the temerity to rewrite the Bible.
And they are Holocaust revisionists, too boot

Re:More Legomation
Check out Brick Films at Archive.org and their official site. Haven't watched any of these yet, but they look interesting.

Re:More copied ideas
Actually, there is quite a large community of Lego movie enthusiasts. The Star Wars Episode III trailer of which you speak is one of many hundreds of other films. The site: http://www.brickfilms.com/

Re:Bad mistake
My biggest mistake was dropping Slackware into my CD drive and turning my computer on (all by accident!). Now, I spend myself tinkering with configuration files, downloading programs from Sourceforge, reading man pages, and generally wasting my time.
To quote the Lego Guy quoting British highbrow Bertrand Russell, "Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time". I kid, I don't consider it wasted time.
Unfortunately, I've screwed systems up so bad so many times over the few years that I've been using Linux that I can't list them. I know that almost every single one of them was fixable had I backed up the file I was screwing with. I think after a year or so of increasing knowledge and increasingly devastating screw-ups that comes with increasing awareness, I've finally learned to back up my files with regularity.
All new Linux users, pay heed, back up your files! man tar.

films by geeks for geeks
someday a brickfilm will be nominated Best Picture
The fact of the matter is that most brickfilms appeal to only a very narrow segment of the population, mostly geek personality types. In short, they're films by geeks for geeks. :P -

Two relevant comments
I forgot my username and password. Oh well, I guess I am anon.
Anyway, two things here I think are interesting.
1. I attended a festival in July called Brickfest . Brad Justus, the head of LEGO Direct (he basically runs the web site and anything to do with the catalog, etc.) gave a great speech there. Among the interesting things he said was that there was a very good reason that LEGO sets are not like they used to be: kids are not like they used to be. LEGO knows their target market very, very well, and they have determined today's kids have much shorter attention spans than the kids of a generation ago. So when you see a set in the stores that has just a bunch of big parts, or looks like an action figure, it's because of a well-researched decision on LEGO's part. Everyone who grew up with LEGO wants their kids to play with the free form originality of the sets they made in the 70s and 80s. But as a WHOLE, today's kids want instant gratification, and don't want to put the sets together. They want a more "play oriented" environment, thus the huge action figure market and LEGO's eroding market share.
2. Someone mentioned LEGO films before. As a shameless self promotion, that's my hobby. I run a site called Brickfilms that I think everyone in the world should see. It is guarenteed to lift your spirits and make you think LEGOs are cool again. It's, IMHO, the BEST and DEFINATIVE site for LEGO films in the net.
