Re:Maybe I am strange...... but "Mutt Williams and the search for Elvis" seems like it could be ok.
Check out Bubba Ho-Tep. It's got mummies. It's got Elvis. It's got BRUCE CAMPBELL.

Re:Maybe I am strange...
If they want to keep Ford in it, then they're going to have to move the setting to a nursing home, which would segue nicely with the Elvis angle.

Re:Uhm
He didn't die, his brain was transplanted into a black man and he lived in the same resthome as Elvis.

At last! But it might be too little too late, several elderly persons have already been dragged away by soul-sucking mummies.
If only this technology were available two years ago, Elvis wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble.

Re:Screw weird, this is the *COOL* present thread!
In the cool gift category, my girlfriend got me a Bubba Ho-Tep movie poster.

Re:Hello, Mummy...
HELLLS YEAH.
Bubba Ho-Tep is the best damn film I've seen in a long time. An instant cult classic.
Basic plot: Elvis and a black JFK take on a 10,000 year old mummy from Egypt. It's also got a great explination for Elivs's life, times, and thoughts on fame.
See this movie. Hopefully it will make it to DVD sometime soon. -
Film reviews?
"When was the last time you decided to see a movie based on a movie review? Film critics write to each other."
I use film reviews all the time. Unless I'm already heavily predisposed to see in the movie (eg, Bubba Ho-Tep), if a movie comes out where the reviews are real stinkers, I won't go see it.
(Notice that that's reviews, plural. Rotten Tomatoes is your friend.)
Granted, word of mouth is more important than reviews, but that doesn't make reviews useless.
Back on the subject of game reviews, though: I certainly want reviewers to tell me about the game, not about their interpretation of the game. The worst offendor I think I've ever read is here. Allow me to quote:
Sigmund Freud argues that all living things are governed by two basic instincts: the life instinct called Eros or the death instinct called Thanatos. Eros is the energy that tries to build social ties, fueled by the body, which floods the mind. Thanatos destroys ties and is the wish for destruction and death. All social activity can be reduced to complex forms and interaction of these two instincts. However, when civilization and socialization disrupt the normal ebb and flow of instinctual living, the mind breaks up under the demands. The threefold self is the id, the collective genetic inheritance of the species; the ego, which acts to meet the demands of the id; and the super-ego, which represents the internalization of the demands of society. Humans struggle to find an outlet to meet the demands of their instincts, but in ways that are socially acceptable. War is a perfect justification when Eros fails to tame Thanatos. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is another.
And that's just the beginning, folks. -
Re:So, what's the deal with the numbers?Yes, if you go to the Bubba Ho-tep website and click on Elvis' right eyeglasses lens (requires Flash), you are shown this number:
31 02283 665
Which can be "decoded" into the following U.S. telephone number: (310) 228-3665
(am I now in violation of the DMCA for cracking this encryption scheme?)
This phone number traces to Beverley Hills, CA.
Call it (on your own dime) and listen to The King's answering machine...

Bruce: Where are we going to see you next?
Hopefully everyone knows about the up-coming movie Bubba Ho-tep (Bruce - playing Elvis playing an Elvis impersonator vs a 2000 yr old mummy in an old folks home).
1. What can we expect after Bubba Ho-tep? Time for a break, or is there another movie lined up?
2. When are we going to see you in Australia damnit? :P (specifically - Adelaide, South Australia)
