More cover-up, waste of money...
See this. If "over 400 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal, first hand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology" isn't good enough for you, then start here to research our gov's own documents, and then go here and dismiss these reports with "swamp gas" or "venus" or "a flock of birds". And lastly, read "UFOs and the National Security State", one of the very best and most referenced book on the subject using our own gov's documents once again.
This "we may contact other intelligent creatures someday" is a complete and utter farce. -
Complete waste of time, we know they're here...

And when you're done there, pick up Richard Dolan's UFOs and the National Security State", possibly the best referenced and researched book on the subject.
This "we may contact other intelligent creatures someday" is a farce. They are here and have been for millenia. -
No, we should be using radar...

This "we may contact other intelligent creatures someday" is a farce. They are here and have been for millenia. SETI is merely a lightning rod for distraction, nothing more. -
No, no we're not.

But we HAVE made contact

Re:One-way missions will NEVER HAPPEN. Here's why:
I agree. Remember how helpless we all felt when the last taps from the Kursk occurred? With all our technology, we couldn't help those poor sailors trapped like rats, drowning to death? Imagine how public the death of these martianauts would be, and how helpless we would feel? I think there would be outrage especially if an accident occurred and they died, just like how there was outrage when both the Challenger and the Columbia exploded.

Re:To those of you who say Nasa is a wasteWhat great change will another 15 billion do?
``The World Health Organization (WHO) and other UN bodies estimate the cost of providing treatment and prevention services in developing countries for tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and malaria at $12 billion a year '' (The Black Vault).
I happen to agree with you, that we could cut other, far more expensive programs and do a lot more good. Cut corporate welfare, cut fat contracts to Halliburton (who has previously been convicted of embezzling millions in government funds), cut spending on weapons the military say they don't need simply because it gives money to some senator's constituents.
Hell, if we took the billions spent on ousting Saddam and spent them on providing humanitarian aid around the world (see how far it could go), I don't think there would be very many terrorists still out to get us, and I doubt they'd have nearly as much support.
So yeah. I think you're right about priorities. But saying we could cut other programs instead doesn't mean a thing. That money could be doing far more good--in terms of concrete improvements like health care and food as well as abstracts like literacy and education--than it does now.
And despite it all, I do like the space program.

Re:Not even closeit's not cost effetive when fighting against a first world nation; sure, an F22 can take on 5 f16's and win...but you can buy about 10-15 (if not more) f16's for the price of one f22.
I doubt your figures. I suspect it's (at most, but I'm not motivated enough to track down actual figures) about 3-4 F-16's per F-22 on a cost basis. However, that's not even a fair comparison, because an F-16 isn't a true air superiority fighter.
The F-22 has several advanced capabilities that no other fighter in the world can match, including supercruise, stealth, IRST and a performance envelope that is something like 40% beyond the F-15's. I'm pretty sure the F-22 could fly against the F-15, and compile a perfect record just like the F-15 has against every other plane in the world. The F-16 would be hopelessly outmatched. The F-22 is worth every penny, IMO.
OK, I did do some nosing around. According to this article the per-plane cost for the F-22 is now at $83 million, given current production rates. This article claims that new F-15s cost Israel $86 million, whereas new F-16s will cost about $30 million. Looks like the 3-1 figure was about right.
BTW, the Eurofighter (a much inferior plane) is slated to cost over $150 million per plane. So much for European efficiency...
;-)I hope you found it of interest!

Other FIOA Material
If you'd like access to other FIOA material that has been recovered before check out here, The Black Vault . The founder has gone through much work and collected quite a bit of material on UFO's and lots of other stuff.

im a skeptic too
but this is the most compelling evidence for the presence of aliens i've ever come across.
has anyone tried this technique? lemme know. -
cool--glad to see the brits *maybe* releasing some info. will remain to be seen how hokey or how real it is. Spain and some other nations have released a little as well.
Link url to blackvault, the largest UFO site on the web, among other things contains thousands of US freedom of information act documents, and yes, there's a boatload of redacted out content, as in "nothing to see here, we just blacked this out because... uhhh... ya see.. I mean..., well because we can!" This site is BIG, well done, and thorough, I recommend it to serious researchers and enthusiasts AND skeptics.

The web master started this site I *think* when he was 16, I've been visiting off and on for years.
Here's my disclaimer. Some of ya'all might have noted my frequent reference to "government" as more or less a pack of liars. One of the two primary reasons (initially that is) I have held this position most of my life is because of "ufos". when I was a teenager some friends and I saw one very close up, very close. Nope, no drugs or booze involved to dispel any trolling. It was not swamp gas, nmoon on a ducks back, some helicopter, or any other explanation other than -no explanation. Some seriously advanced flying "something'. To describe it , it was a large glowing oval shaped whatever, it flew down the block just above the houses, stopped over a house closeby, hung out, then slowly went down the block, toward the end it started to climb then WHAM took off like mach bignumber and was gone. Tell ya whut you just do NOT forget things like this. So, I start reading about UFOs,and I notice the government more or less says they don't exist except as various lame reasons. Well, too bad, 'cuz I know this is a whopper. Score one for destroying a yong man's trust in government, already shaken by the kennedy whack, then oswalds rubout which was obvious to anyone with an iq above 50 as "eliminating some embarassing evidence".
government=liars when it comes to certain things. This is IMO of course, but in the decades since I have seen no evidence to persuade me otherwise, in fact,I'd say the evidence FOR ufo's as being something "other" is better than for "honesty in government".
Exactly what they are, no idea, demons to secret nazi craft, time travellers to interstellar visitors, angels to secret gov blackops-no idea, none. I tend to more think the correct answer is "all of the above".
