I'm curious about game balance, has anyone played?
WWII was anything but balanced in real life, so I'm curious how the balance works in the game (since they supposedly focus on realism).
All told, Russia had 20 million casualties total (one front, only fighting the Germany for the most part) while Germany had "only" 4.5 million casualties (fighting both Russia and US/Britain/Canada) (source).
This is at least partially due to the better quality of German equipment. Do they have teams of 20 Russians playing against teams of 4 people to compensate for this?

It takes a queer to raise a child
I am working on a couple of assumptions here, so the whole thing falls apart if they are incorrect [...] 2. [Heterosexual attraction] occurs to promote procreation of the species.
Not always. Some claim that the gay gene is recessive but pops up more often when a village needs more "parents" to stay at home and help the straight moms care for the little ones than "breadwinners" to go hunt for food. Therefore, having gay adults in the village may give the children a better chance of survival.

Re:child porn
Boo-fucking-hoo, unless you are planning on sending the kid to day care in the Presidio then its very unlikely that someone outside her family will molest her. I think the by far most common source of molestation [other than priests
:) (who it appears probably killed Kevin Collins) ] is family members and they usually aren't stupid enough to make incriminating records of it and they didn't start doing it because they saw kiddie porn they are probably doing because it happened to them.
And non-corporate news sources tend to tell the raw truth about various kinds of real, ongoing, industry supported abuse affecting millions of children - rug weaving in the Middle East "Hi, I am 4 yrs old and I weave rugs 12 hours a day - If I don't want to get beaten when the cameras aren't around...", Camel Racing in UAE, diamond cutting in India - the story of the camel jockeys barely exists because they are "disposed of" as soon as they get to big to be useful, so there is no one left to tell the story. Its easy to not care about real problems and inflate the scariness of possible "crimes against the children (tm)" when the real problems aren't on the TV news every night. Remember to keep America safe from terrorists and child pornographers simply surrender all freedoms, trust us they are out there...
PS I would never say this without AC because 1 - I'd fear being seen as unsympathetic to your "plight" as a protective parent and 2 - The "single vehicle roll over accident" I'd be involved in because the boys didn't like my comments. -
I wonder
users can ask their computers to retrieve all pictures that include a specific person's face
I wonder if they'll link to any of this pictures, when searching for this specific person's face:

Perhaps this technician will answer any questions you have about LimeWire.

In DenmarkOne of the bigger ADSL ISPs in Denmark, CyberCity has done something similar at PlayingGod.dk.
There are fewer games but it seems cheaper: a game for 7 days for 50 kroner (about 4 UKP), 12 games for 30 days (they select the games) 150 kroner (12 UKP) and 5 games for 7 days for 100 kroner.
All games can be downloaded (they claim to use some sort of streaming technology so they are downloaded on demand rather than everything at once). If you are a CC ADSL customer, you can also temporarily upgrade your bandwidth for a price to speed up the download

More Prizes, PleaseIMHO (and I do mean "humble" since I'm not putting up the money here) Anderson's ~$1/4M CATS Prize is probably more important to the goal of space tourism than his multimillion $ investment in Mir reported in this article. But I'm glad to see someone calling NASA's bluff on its self-serving "ditch Mir" rhetoric.
BTW -- anyone can get into the act.
