Re:Just Criticism
Ahhhhhhhh, what we have here is obviously an esteemed holder of a degree in psychodynamic masterbation from UBS:
http://www.cynicalbastards.com/ubs/index.html
Although this bit only rates a 4.24 on the Wankometer:

Obviously not an honours student.

Re:Need more buzzwords?
And once you're done with the buzzword generator, you can run it back through The Wonderful Wankometer.

Re:Management want it, but does it understand it
My company does lots of things, but almost no manufacturing (our local office provides engineering services to the government and military). We also got hit with the Six Sigma marketing buzz, and our stupid (now departed) CEO decided that they needed to initiate the garbage company wide. I've managed to avoid it so far, but I've passed by the conference room occasionally while sessions have been going on, and I would have to say that it would score real close to 10 on the Wank-o-meter. All of the engineers who have been subjected to it have said it's nothing more than good engineering practice that they should have learned in school. But maybe it's good for the administrative/marketing types.

Re:It seems to have a different meaning in the US.
My impression, from references in things like Austin Powers and Midtown Madness 2 (which has some really awful "brit-isms", but also treats you to an 'upper class women' calling your fellow drivers tossers, amongst others) that wank does at least double-duty.
There's the one I know and love (right-handed), which is a reference to masturbation, and this other more vague 'crap' or something similar, as in the The Wonderful Wank-o-meter or the jargon file entry.
I would agree with c*nt being probably the most offensive here (UK) too - a sound yelling from my dad when I first discovered the word and called my sister one at age 7 has seen to that with me :)
It is an ugly word though.
[oh yeah - I am a britfag, blah blah blah, two world wars, whatever - save you the bother] -
Wank-factor
The Wonderful Wankometer rates the press release as having a considerable wank quotient.

Re:Note to self...
Hmmmm...first a CS degree strictly in video games, now a literature degree strictly in science fiction. Note to self : Throw resumes from UK colleges in trash.
The University of Miami has a course in basket-weaving. Does that make it sensible to throw out Harvard or MIT resumes?
Clue: I have here The (London) Times's 1998 University guide, which includes their attempt to rank the 96 accredited UK universities in order of quality. The University of Glamorgan, who are offering the SF course, is ranked 69th. The University of Teeside, who offer the computer games degree, is ranked 80th.
Both universities are ex-polytechnics (further education technical/vocational colleges). A few years ago the rules were changed to allow polytechnics to register as universities. Some of them have given themselves somewhat grandiose titles ("The University of the West of England"!) or begun offering rather, ah, populist courses to attract more students. There's an excellent satire of this kind of thing ( The University of Bums on Seats) which I see someone has already mentioned here.
