Final Season of Battlestar Galactica Confirmed
Ant writes "Via Dark Horizons, IESB reported from the 10th annual Saturn awards yesterday, and spoke with Battlestar Galactica stars Edward James Olmos and Katee Sackhoff. Olmos confirmed that, as far as the show that's been running so far, the fourth season will be the last one. It's currently slated to start airing in January of 2008. 'Olmos says "This will probably be the most extraordinary season of 'Battlestar'. It's the final season, so it's definitely going to be the most vicious. As far as we know, in respects of the way we have this show constructed, this is the final season." Sackhoff says "I think part of the problem is that it's an expensive show. It is [a great show], but we don't have the viewership that a great show should get."'" -

Doom Movie Update
WeAz writes "Dark Horizons has an update on the currently filming Doom Movie. The article sums up the history of the production thus far and also includes a cool tidbit that reveals 'a large number of sequences will be shot purely in "first-person" perspective of the leading character (Karl Urban).' Unfortunately, the article also reports that 'The monsters aren't from hell, but rather people mutated by some nasty super-virus although the monsters look very similar to those in the game.' Sounds like a version of 28 Days Later based on Mars to me." -

Superman Set To Fly
arock99 writes "After many years of battling various script rewrites, Superman is set to soar again. Various sources (superman-v.com, darkhorizons.com, aintitcool.com) report that Brandon Routh (of Gilmore Girls) has been cast as Superman. With production only a month away, Brian Singer is set to tackle yet another super-hero film after previously having directed both X-Men and X2. Had it not been for his recent passing, Christopher Reeve would surely have been part of the production team in some capacity. Superman should hit theaters around summer 2006." -

Now, if only such a full-length movie were real..." That Dr.Wily can be so cantankerous, eh? -
