OTHER MICROWAVE CRIMINAL ATTACKS REPORTED
It isn't widely publicized -- although it does leak into the mainstream media, occasionally, as in this case -- but thousands of people are reporting that criminals are using microwave radiation to attack them.
This is not just in the USA -- also in Britain, France, Germany.
For example, Germany: http://www.mikrowellenterror.de/ .
Almost all the posts I've scanned, at least those that are on topic, immediately dismiss these people's claims as absurd.
WHY? I'm sure you could easily modify a microwave oven yourself, and use it to harass your neihbors, if you wanted. I guess if you have such an inclination, you now know you are safe to go ahead. Anyone who complains about your attacks will be dismissed as paranoid. Hey, why not place a microwave oven where you can activate and control it by remote, and give this theory a test. It will be almost impossible for you to be caught, so why not?
Potential military and covert use of microwave radiation is an active area of research. (Obviously not just microwave, but rather all forms of beamable radiation. Actually, implanted devices as well.)
I believe I am a victim of involuntary experimentation in this research, my story is at http://www.geocities.com/mrmistermicko .

Re:Well, funny and all but.....
You will think this is completely off the wall. The US has a secret system to track gifted children, and many of them are intentionally brain damaged. The way US society actually works is completely different than the way most people beileve it does, and the actual arrangement of affairs in the US is not tolerant to the existence of a large number of highly perceptive, intelligent people who are not officially connected in and recognized / watched by the power structure.
What you've described, the sudden, obvious change in your child's behavior, sounds a lot like the change some parents have observed after their child received the MMR vaccination. The amount mercury in vaccines is supposed to be too small to cause cognitive damage, but then , who knows exactly what the actual cocktail in a vaccination given to their child is? It may be varied on an individual basis.
The rise in autism rates over the last decades disproportionately effected the children of parents who worked in technical fields. For example, I remember reading an article that speculated the relatively high autism rates among children of Silicon Valley parents might be due to the mating of two naturally nerdy parents who both lacked social skills, despite having high intelligence.
Besides vaccines, there are other methods for reducing the IQ in children in which a high IQ is not desired by the secret groups who actually control American society. Beamed radiation in conjunction with devices implanted in the head are being researched as a technology for secretly influencing a person's behavior, and are also capable of secretly inflicting brain damage.
This is not just in children. I have personally watched the degradation in verbal ability, over a period of weeks or months, in some people I have chatted with in internet discussion forums. I believe I have seen children being victimized in this research. I have seen cases in which consumer electronics devices secretly have this technology embedded in them. Remember the freak case in which a college student's TV was emitting the international distress signal, so powerfully it was picked up by the satellite SOS network? This was probably a test case, to gauge the public's reaction should such secret embedded "mind control" technology be discoverd, and to set a precedent that can be pointed to if such a discovery is made.
I would read up about "mind control" research, and examine your kids dental x-rays or other x-rays of the head yourself, carefully. I would install thorough electromagnetic shielding around the sleeping location of family members. (Or just leave the US to live in a country that is not secretly totalitarian in this way.)

Investigation Warranted? Judge for yourself.
Were the PATRIOT Act abuse complaints that the DOJ Inspector General dismissed without investigation really so unbelievable? The Inspector General's report states:
Approximately three-quarters of the 1,748 complaints made allegations that did not warrant an investigation. For example, some of the complaints alleged that government agents were broadcasting signals that interfere with a person's thoughts or dreams or that prison officials had laced the prison food with hallucinogenic drugs.

It is not a joke to the victimsFirst a few facts:
- The US government has a history of using its citizens in classified research wihtout their consent:
"From the end of world War II well in to the 1970s, the Atomic Energy Commission, the Defense Department, the military services, the CIA and other agencies used prisoners, drug addicts, mental patients, college students, soldiers, even bar patrons, in a vast range of government-run experiments to test the effects of everything from radiation, LSD and nerve gas to intense electric shocks and prolonged 'sensory deprivation.' Some of the human guinea pigs knew what they were getting into; many others did not even know they were being experimented on."
The Cold War Experiments , Budiansky, Goode and Gest,
U.S News and World Report , January 24, 1994 - The US government is good at keeping involuntary experiments on its citizens secret. The news media will not report it:
"Suddenly, at the close of 1993, the public was bombarded with "news" about the feeding of radioactive substances to pregnant women and mentally retarded students, about the unethical irradiation of workers, soldiers, medical patients, and prison inmates, and about the government's own internal fears that these experiments had 'a little of the Buchenwald touch.' ...
I am among those who persistently tried to get national media coverage of this outrageous example of government wrongdoing. To say that the media were reluctant to listen would be an understatement. The fact is that, for more than a decade, documentation was ignored and facts were misreported."
The Radiation Story No One Would Touch,
Geoffrey Sea, Columbia Journalism Review, March / April 1994 - When the US government conducts experiments on secretly influencing human behavior, using 'unwitting', i.e. involuntary, test subjects is considered essential:
"... On December 17, 1963, Deputy Director for Plans Helms wrote a memo to the DDCI, who with the Inspector General and the Executive Director-Comptroller had opposed the covert testing. He noted two aspects of the problem: (1) 'for over a decade the Clandestine Services has had the mission of maintaining a capability for influencing human behavior;' and (2) 'testing arrangements in furtherance of this mission should be as operationally realistic and yet as controllable as possible.' Helms argued that the individuals must be 'unwitting' as this was 'the only realistic method of maintaining the capability, considering the intended operational use of materials to influence human behavior as the operational targets will certainly be unwitting. Should the subjects of the testing not be unwitting, the program would only be 'pro forma' resulting in a 'false sense of accomplishment and readiness.' ' [Memorandum for the Record prepared by the Inspector General, 5/15/63]"
Project MKULTRA, the CIA's Program of Behavior Modification,
Appendix A, XVII. Testing And Use Of Chemical
And Biological Agents By The Intelligence Community,
Joint Hearing before the Select Committee on Intelligence,
U.S. Senate, 95th Congress, 1977 - The US government is currently conducting experiments to investigate the ability of modulated beamed energy, including electromagnetic, to influence human behavior:
"Scores of new contracts have been let, and scientists, aided by government research on the 'bioeffects' of beamed energy, are searching the electromagnetic and sonic spectrums for wavelengths that can affect human behavior."

Wake-up people, you're being murdered
The United States government, and the US mafia, i.e. powerful groups in the US, have a long history of murdering anyone doing anything they perceive as harmful to their interests, anytime they think they can get away with it.
I will go on record -- under the name "Anonymous Coward" -- as saying: I think something or someone very powerful does not like the free software movement.
Here are some of the reasons.
The powerful know how to control businesses and people whose actions are dictated by selfishly serving their self-interests. But the powerful have trouble controlling the free software movement, because it is community driven, and the selection of its leaders is out of their control.
The powerful don't like what the free software does, which empowers not only the proletariat, but foreign nations and organizations they're not particularly fond of as well.
When Hans Bakker and other free software community members died in an auto-accident this October, after they had dropped off Richard Stallman, I tried to raise the alarm, and got modded two "Funny" points as my reward: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=123832&cid=103 97295 . Please take a look at that post, in wich I ask
>> How happy do you think the United States is
>> that free software has given China and
>> countries like it an operating system which is
>> guaranteed free of any CIA / NSA backdoors?
I wasn't the only one thinking along these lines at that time. A different "Anonymous Coward" asked "An honest 'conspiracy theory' question..." and was ignored: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=123832&thresho ld=-1&commentsort=0&tid=99&mode=thread&cid=1039567 3 .
Trouble-makers of every stripe have an amazingly elevated risk of dying in plane crashes, of a heart-attack, or of a stroke at a young age. If you want insight into what techonology is being used to do it, look at http://www.geocities.com/mrmistermicko and http://www.datafilter.com/mc .
Where possible, they may just try to channel you into "more productive" work (Linus Torvalds) or an MBA (Alan Cox). If that fails, or you're not susceptible to their subtle methods of persuasion, they will just kill you once they are annoyed enough.
Take a look at how enemies of the Bush family, or their interests, have fared: http://witewillo.homestead.com/files/bushbodycount .htm When you find many of the documentation links don't work, the Internet Archive is your friend: http://www.archive.org/ . (Off-topic side note: The site that link was mirrored from has been suspiciously watered-down, with the links to supporting documentation completely removed. Also, it has been officially off-line since May of this year, just in time for the elections ... As the Church Lady (you KNOW she voted for Bush, one of his evangelical, theocracy craving base supporters) would say, "how CONVENIENT").
For many these ideas won't just be too strange to accept, they are too strange to even rationally evaluate. And that is the problem. Large changes in world view, EVEN WHEN they are supported by the evidence, can only happen after the facts are examined over an extended period of time. I suggest you read my links on this technology occasionally over the next month, and then form an opinion. -
Re:Get Help Now, Maybe?
A "permanent headache" could be almost anything. I really have no good reason to think you are being used as an involuntary human experimental subject by the US government, or some other entity.
However, I am. And among the many things you've looked into as the possible cause of your "permanent headache," you might check out the research that three-letter US government agencies are doing on anti-personnel beamed energy weapons, their potential uses for altering human behavior and personality, and the complaints from victims all over the world that they are being targeted for research.
Some good sites with information:

For the international perspective,
http://www.mikrowellenterror.de/
This is tin-foil hat stuff, literally.
I've encountered quite a few other victims, some of whom knew what was happening to them, but most did not. This was not at conferences, it was just during my life. For some, their victimization began with an automobile accident, which helped to provid a cover for the symptoms of their abuse. It isn't much of a basis for suspicion, I know.

It's the same kind used in mind control...
I suspect that it's simply a patch antenna. For the size and weight, it's hard to beat the gain of a patch antenna.
Here is an example for 802.11b of which the author notes, "What's nice about the patch antenna over the "cantenna" is its broad beamwidth. The cantenna has to be pointed very precisely at the AP to get anything at that range, but the patch can be tilted several degrees and still get a signal." The Spirit's antenna was estimated to be 2 degrees off aim at the initial connect attempt, but they said they should still get good data at up to 4 degrees off, and beyond that they would still get carrier.
While the frequency is different, you'll find that these people sell patch antennas which compare favorably in signal strength with their parabolic antennas, but with a wider beam spread.
But we all know they're simply using the technology they've been using for years to practice mind control on us.

Re:Airport Scans, cognitive liberty, LOTS more infThe Cognitive Liberty site is interesting, but I would not say it is currently the best site for links on the history and present of mental privacy abuses. See, for example, my Mind Control: Technology, Techniques, and Politics site for a fairly academic presentation. See also the many other sites listed on the Additional Links page.
The Boston Globe article actually underplayed the current technological capabilities.

Time for the tinfoil hat.
Ripped off from here
Some of the other techniques described in articles linked from that site involve direct brain stimulation by VHF or microwave energy.
If they start going into general use - even intermittently - it may be time for the tinfoil hats. -
Re:Less sensational title:-Bend me,shape me.It can be used as non-lethal technology...
By using very low frequency electromagnetic radiation -- the waves way below radio frequencies on the electromagnetic spectrum -- he [Eldon Byrd] found he could induce the brain to release behavior-regulating chemicals. "We could put animals into a stupor," he says by hitting them with these frequencies. "We got chick brains -- in vitro -- to dump 80 percent of the natural opioids in their brains,'"Byrd says. He even ran a small project that used magnetic fields to cause certain brain cells in rats to release histamine. In humans, this would cause instant flulike symptoms and produce nausea. "These fields were extremely weak. They were undetectable," says Byrd. "The effects were nonlethal and reversible. You could disable a person temporarily," Byrd hypothesizes. "It [would have been] like a stun gun."
