Re:To Emulate or Not
I was considering downloading Daphne as it is one of the few classic emulators I don't have.

You can always buy the standard-def DVDs and convert them for use in Daphne:

Try Dragon’s Lair 20th Anniversary
You might want to try the Dragon's Lair 20th Anniversary set produced by Digital Leisure. It basicaly uses the original laserdisc video of DL, DL2 and SA converted to MPEG format. It's pretty enjoyable, although I wasn't to pleased with my continual dying in DL2.

Re:Start the rumor mill...I bet it's a new console! I bet it's a handheld with three screens! And they're all holographic! (Sega has been sitting on the technology for years!) And it's backwards compatible with the Dreamcast and the Sega CD and the XBOX!
Here's another one: They're releasing an online version of Segagaga, and basing all of their business decisions off of the actions of the best players.

Dragon's Lair for DVD-Video
DVD is not software.
Do you claim that the Dragon's Lair game, which runs on the DVD-Video menu virtual machine, does not count as software?

Dragon's Lair available as DVD

Re:Why not save yourself $24,998.00 ?

In fact, you can buy Dragon's Lair on DVD
You are quite right of course-- it is *exactly* as interactive as a DVD. The original was just a laserdisc player that skipped to the right part of the video when you did something. Which made the game more than a little boring. (to me, anyway)
But you can actually get it on DVD:
