Re:My Review
I'm *glad* your multiboxing doesn't work. I think multiboxing should be banned. Totally unfair when it comes to PVP. Never mind when someone like http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=14611&pageNo=1 this enters your zone, you don't stand a chance at questing anywhere near him(her). Think of it like the proverbial 'Bull in a China shop'. (He's on Aegwyn, incidentally...)
I don't care what argument you use, you're not in control of each of your characters. Proof? Your own words:
...it almost always breaks "/follow" which means I have to stop and manually move my followers forward till my main appears then re-follow.The argument for allowing multi-boxing has always been 'well, the players are in control of all the characters'. No they're not. Do you manually cast each spell (if you're a caster) on each toon set to '/follow'? No. You don't. All spells are cast from the main.
So, I can't say I'm disappointed that you're having problems with your multi-box setup. I also understand that this is the way you enjoy the game, but please understand that it takes the enjoyment *out* of the game for many others.
Bliz won't do anything about it as they're happily collecting revenue from each account.

This has been done before....
This is nothing new.
I recall a player trying to 40 box molten core back a year or two ago. I don't know if he ever did it or not but it was possible to do back then even though he needed a single PC per account. Now, 4 or even 5 accounts per computer is possible thanks to quad cores.

This guy 50 boxes (althogh he was botting / farming them and not multiboxing).

Having grown up on Wizardry
and a multitude of other CRPGs I simply was trying create that feeling again. Let alone the challenge required. It requires an very in depth knowledge of how the macro language works, addons, and how each class plays.
However I did find out quickly that balanced groups are far less efficient than optimized groups. One of the best sites dedicated to dual boxing is http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Portal You can also choose read articles about it on WOWWIKI starting with http://www.wowwiki.com/Dual_box
// disclaimer is that I wrote the bulk of those wowwiki articles. The primary use I have for dual boxing now is that it makes annoying classes bearable when you always have backup. Just tow a high level healer out of group for timely heals and even warriors (no healing ability and very few if any escape possibilities) become simple to do.

9 Million users my ass...
It's probably more like 9 million accounts and 3 million users.
Apparently there's this fad called "dual boxing". This guy has 50 computers on WoW at a time between him and his gf.
And you thought your buddy was addicted with his ONE measly account. -
Re:9 million users or accounts?
People like this who play 20+ accounts make up for families like yours - http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?

Highly Inflated
I would wager that this number is highly inflated...
Personally, I own and maintain 3 accounts and my girlfriend has her own as well, so 2 players, 4 accounts... If you take a look at my guild of 50+ active members you will find an impressive roster of well over 200 characters many of which are on seperate accounts. I know I have at least 15 players with more than one account, and our biggest account holder is sitting around 8.
Take a look at Dual Boxing and evaluate how many multi-account users there are out there... Many claim (and have video proof) of 5, 10, and even 50 boxes running at a time... with one of the contributors to the community boasting over 200 wow accounts on one server...
I figure that without even counting farmers, we have made a significant notch in the 9 million number... -
