I'll tell you how I dealt with it...
I bought a motorcycle.

Re:Environmental cost
New bikes DO have catalytic converters.
Check the "ENGINE" tab here. for example:

Re:Yawn... same old argument
Sound familiar? It's the same argument against any kind of Open Source, only this time it's UI design that's somehow impossible to do without a big corporation (or "cathedral" if you will).
He's not saying you need a big corporation, only that at present those are the only ones doing it right.
Which is of course true. For all their various benefits there is currently no Linux WM or distro that has a "well-designed, intuitive interface".
Someone better tell the KDE people.
The KDE people mean well and are doing reasonably well, but comparing the usability of KDE to OS X is a bit like comparing the performance of a tricycle to a Ducati Supersport bike.

Re:Yamaha motors?Try the first two Ducati 748 Termignoni links on this page. SILs are made in the same factory as Termis and just rebadged.
Also a Ducati 748R with Termis at Donnington Park, complete with downshifts into Redgate.
For my personal favourite listen to this one of the Ducati Desmosedici MotoGP bike. More of the same here.

Re:*** Not up to the hype - some spoilers!!! ***
2 yr old Ducati's were funny... but nobody then knew what the new ones would look like.
Hell, if I were making a movie today, I'd go with Tamburini's bikes (the 916/955/996/998, or the MV F4 -- which I think makes an appearance in the trailer) over that rolling freak show Terblanche just created. -
Re:Photoshop is not much more expensive than PSP
Photoshop Elements? What a joke!! Yeah, and my moped can kick the crap out of a Ducati SS800. Have you even used Photoshop Elements?
Real Photoshop is $610 per seat unless you want to get into volume licensing. -
6 seconds!?
eCycle's has an "acceleration of 0-60 mph in 6 seconds." Bah. When you're on a crotch rocket and you absolutely, positively gots to go 0-60 mph in 2 seconds or less, accept no substitutes. [Ducati.com]
Of course, a Ducati, is a bit more pricey and more of a natural resource hog, but nothing beats accelerating until your brains splatter on the pavement. -
Re:Get a bikeA bike. The guy is buying a new car and he is asking about a radio.
He should just buy a bike instead. He won't have to worry about radios because decent bikes don't have them. He'll still be entertained because, more often than not, there will be a chick on the back he can talk to, even if he is a geek.

Re:Women drool over a man on a Segway??
If I wanted a two wheeled beautifully designed vehicle I would have already bought a V-Rod at this auctions prices... Or I would have bought two of these Monsters first... I love my Monster... They have more sex appeal than any gyro oriented battery operated piece of tech, and are 100x more fun! If you're looking for transportation on this scale... I would walk.
