Re:pageYou clearly don't hold a pencil in one hand while reading things. Not all of us have two free hands lying about.
Burning karma here but... THIS is why I love Slashdot!
A pencil? May I suggest something to help grow that pencil to something more substantial... -

I don't believe this for one minute...
I don't (buy Enzyte! Feel like a MAN!) believe that this kind (Get your ULTRA LOW COST HOSTING here!) of advertising actually (Your computer may be infected! Click here for a free scan!) exists...

Re:a better question
when 300 lines of code completely "pwn" any human player you cant help but think of pointlessness of a game
Did you ever stop to think that the point of a game is to have fun? I KNOW I can be beaten by an aimbot. The computer can aim much faster than I ever could. I don't need some punk h4x0r to prove it to me. I'm here to have a good time and play the game. I enjoy a little friendly competition and I'm not here to "learn" anything for the real world. All you've done is make the game a little less fun for the people around you. You might look into buying some Enzyte, I've seen lots of commercials that claim they might be able to help you. -
Re:Dupe. Marathon gaming still a problem. (plz rea
I don't know if this is what you were implying, but it isn't really society's fault that people get so caught up in the persuit of physical wealth.
The problem:
Big Business
Big Media
Big Government
Big TROUBLE!!!
I disagree. In a nutshell:
Big Business - The undisputed engine of modern civilization. Without it....'Dark Ages' (pre late 18th century, the time of the Industrial Revolution)
Big Media - The megaphone of Big Business which are the true customers of it. Inescapable (advertising everywhere -- even in bathrooms!) Persuasive (image/emotional/'branding' based ads instead of concise, product facts and benefits based advertising). Rapacious (pop culture is cannibalized to sell stuff i.e. CHEVY TRUCK'S 'LIKE A ROCK' campaign -- Why did Bob Seger let Chevrolet use his song for that (in)famous ad campaign? Surely he didn't need the money and the 1983 film Risky Business made him (and Tom Cruise) household names). Wasteful (U.S. commercial TV is about 25% advertising. How much postal junk mail did you throw away today? How many full-page magazine ads did you flip past today?). Assinine (the worst offender is probably the Enzite commercials and the hot water the company is in....). When Big Media is used in the service of Big Government, the results can be disturbing yet eye-opening! (Remember the fuss over Willie Horton or Lyndon Johnson's infamous 'Daisy' campaign ad attacking opponent Barry Goldwater?)
Big Government - An outgrowth of the above two items. USA's bipartisan political system is essentially 'two sides of the same coin'. Doesn't matter if the Republicans or Democrats (or both) are in power in Washington D.C., big business is always running the show behind the scenes. Just look at how the U.S. tax code balloned from a few pages when it was introduced in 1914 to several feet of shelf space!...
Big TROUBLE!!! - Unless people 'vote with their wallets' and stop patronizing the handfull of 'big businesses' out there, there could then be genuine competition in a marketplace inhabited by dozens...even hundreds of smaller businesses in various industries. Real innovation could take place instead of being suppressed by 'dirty tricks' and lots of cash.... Decentralization appears to be our only hope to 'undo' this mess in a controlled, peaceful, economically oriented manner. -

Re:Paper and Condoms
I saw some ads this morning that recently aired in the UK, ads for condoms, that are smart and funny, yet would not be aired on US television because of all the sick and twisted censorship this land of the free is having to deal with right now.
This is a touch off topic (AC for great justice).... but thought I'd set the record straight as this is turning into America VS rest of the planet dialog.
I see comercials for condoms often on commedy central. I don't know what other stations broadcast them. I've only seen adverts for Trojen Condoms, with the friendly neighborhood Trojen Man on his quest to give condoms to adults in need, and also taking the time to market the ribbed for her pleasure and hot gel varities.
But far more often I see comercials for Enzyte , the once a day natural male enhancement. These are far more tacky then "Looks like you two need a condom". The comerical's main character (see link) Smiling Bob is burt into the eyes of everyone I know.
In all fairness your statement about network television might be true, it's possible such things are not advertised for reasons of censorship or perhaps the networks (ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/WB/UPN) don't want to run the risk of offending anyone with scholong related products. But cable television does not have to conform to the rules that network television does, and I don't know anyone without cable.
It also should be noted that our PBS network, a publicly funded educational network, is far less prone to censorship. Nudity / Profanity laws don't seem to apply to them, but is usualy only seen in import and indy films. But it's a comercial free zone.
