I don't find this funny
Just before reading this, I happened to receive a Sun newsletter, with something about Xeon-fried chicken. Can't believe it's all reduced to this!

Re:Video brokenness
You could read the article and find out, that the link is prominently displayed in the lefthand side. But then again.. This is Slashdot...

Re:Video brokenness
Video link (but thanks to per-session URLs, who knows for how long this link will work...)

Video link until it's fixed

Re:finally
When, until he realizes there is a video of him on Sun's web site, in a proprietary codec and viewable with a program written in a proprietary language.

Never Happy
These security vendors been taking advantage of the flaws in the windows OS's for years and making tons of money doing it. Great someone needed to do it since MS couldn't or wouldn't. However MS is now trying to hardent heir OS and remove the security holes that should have been removed years ago and what happens? People complain. And by people I mean Symantec, McAfee, etc (not the end user mind you).
I for one am pleased to see MS trying to lock down their systems and these other vendors just need to quite whining. I am sure there will still be plenty left to fix. There always is.

Give this man an Award
I am a big fan of privacy. But I am also a big fan you losing your rights to privacy when you continually break the law in a fashion that puts others at risk, especially minors.
Maybe Myspace is just really that stupid (heck, their site design casues me to thik their programmer can;t be all that bright).

Not to worry
Crappy acting will still be crappy acting. Just like the foley artist is still happily employed enhancing the audio soundtrack (either digitally or old fashined foot stomping). The animator will remain gainfully employed improving and enhancing the final product.

Re:lots of reasons
$1 per hour is $8, 760 per year. What isn't mentioned is that your $1 takes far less than 1 hour of actual clock-time to be chewed up. A big job will be propagated across hundreds of CPUs. Using 60 CPUs for 1 minute costs you $1. In a demo, Schwartz showed how to model a protein on the grid. It about 7 seconds which cost him $13. You really pay for this service by the job.

In addition, this service ONLY works for grid applications like rendering movies, Monte Carlo simulations, etc. Regular business apps like payroll or ERP won't run on this system. -

The right video URL
The Video URL posted is outdated: that site is designed for the older browsers (Netscape 4.7) and older players used within Cisco.
Here's the link that points to the site that has better support for Mozilla/Firefox, Linux and Mac. -

Urgent notification of vulnerability
I would imagine that the people preparing those vulnerability reports would notify the software vendor the first thing even before they are finished preparing the reports.....
Who knows how they work. Oh well...
Oh yeah, before I forget, for the best videos ever, go to http://reuters.feedroom.com
Your 200 cable or satellite TV channels won't show you what the above mentioned site shows
(you will need a broadband connection to enjoy the videos) -

Study proves Windows still way ahead of Linux
In reply to this post
No law says we can't use Linux or Mac. Lots of people do. Most people would agree both are < sarcasm >better than Windows </ sarcasm >.
Has any Linux user ever been able to view? :
If no, this proves that Linux lages behind windows as far as home users are concerned.
If yes, tell me how did you do it and what player did you use. My Linux real player won't play either of the two sites.....
-
Do you use Linux ?
I recently switched to SuSE Linux Professional 8.1. I like it so far (after importing my Windows fonts) but now I am beginning to miss Windows. Most websites are designed for Windows Media Player/RealOne Player/Apple Quicktime 6.0.
Linux has real player 8 which does't seem to play streaming media in Netscape or Mizilla or Konqueror.
Has anyone using Linux been able to play streaming media? (If not, you don't know what you are missing)
As a test, can any of you Linux users view:
or
-
Can any Linux user....
