MD5sums GPG signature not verified?I downloaded the FC2-i386-DVD.iso
$ md5sum.exe FC2-i386-DVD.iso
2d8a20014af287bf8c6b29f2da031f98 *FC2-i386-DVD.iso
I Googled for that MD5sum, and got this:http://www.gildot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/15/094
which contained the following:9 240
But when I used GPG to get the fedora@redhat.com keys off of a public keyserver, I got:-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

El latn no est muerto!Muerto?

Re:What's the point?
Nope..
It's just a little hard to make the effort to write in something which is not my native language so I can contribute to
./ , and having a native speaker be pedantic about my spelling or grammar...Would you make the same effort? Come over to Gildot, slashdot's portuguese little brother. It's my turn now to be pedantic.

Slashdot getting left behind...
This must be one of the few times this happens, but the Portuguese counterpart of
/. , Gildot has beaten his big brother to the story! You can read it here! -

Re:Slashdot in portuguese
Surely you meant GilDot...
Like Slashdot, but in Portuguese. -
A Portuguese-language Slashdot.
May I redirect the Slashdot trolls to the Portuguese cousin of Slashdot and Barrapunto, Gildot.

some slashcode sitesI don't know of any other open-sourced sites (this is the point of your post). I don't think that website code is as likely to be under the GPL because it typically isn't distributed. If someone comes up with good code, the don't distribute it, they use it on their own website.
Anyone with a little perl knowledge can go a long way towards making a slashcode site into a customer support, file download, or of course a news and events website.
Anyways, here's the slashsites in case anyone is interested.

Re:Slashdot en espaol
You also have www.gildot.org (in portuguese).

This explains a lotThis was a much needed article, to explain something we all knew: that the slashdot model works. I've had ample proof of that, helping run a slashdot inspired site gildot. Although we cater for a far smaller audience (Portuguese speaking Linux fans) we've been able to gather a loyal community in a couple of months.
This article helped me in reaching a better understanding of the forces involved.
A word of caution: this also demonstrates that there is an element of fragility in this model. If users ever get the perception that slashdot is going too commercial, it could loose it's primary appeal. In our effort we are commited to keep it strictly non-comercial, and exploiting that fact to promote it.
