The reason I suggested this option, is for low-maintenance, all that is required is to switch on the computer. The operating system is read-only so can not be changed - nothing to break. The homepage of firefox can be perminatly set to your website.

You can then set up your website remotely, have each webste automatically progres to the next page.

If internet connection is not possible, you can add wepages locally to the cd set the homepage to the local index and mail and new cd everytime.

check out what the ljudmila crews did with the makrolab experiment. looks a bit like a moon module, made to survive in very hostile environments.

i've been living a whole 20 days into it, without getting out (was on Campalto island out of Venice, 100 meters of diameter). amazing to learn how much you consume with your geekiness, eh.

there are also some photos here.

the makrolab module is working with a windmill and 4 solar panels. i can tell you that 2 windmills in a stormy day would make as much as 4 BIG solar panels in a hot summer day - and i guess you would be pretty free to run lots of gear on top of that, as much as we had there.

You might also want to read Vinton Cerf's email about Al Gore and the internet, which was prepared by Cerf and Kahn. Here's a quote: "Bob and I believe that the vice president deserves significant credit for his early recognition of the importance of what has become the Internet." This may not answer your question directly, but provides useful information all the same.

there are a lot of net.artists which works are hard to find in galleries, and who themselves (more or less) call net.artists and that dot makes the difference...

its work usually digs into political issues and specific issues of the media itself (net part of the net.art coin) rather then playing in the field of aesthetics and continuum of ugly and beautiful... media hacks are better thain paintings... just to start a little flamewar :)
